Watching Kpop Demon Hunters, and realizing that I am like every Huntr/x Member.

First, I noticed Rumi

A leader. Always thinking about goals to a point of never relaxing and burning out. Fearing that if people (especially people she truly loved) saw who she really was, no one could love her and would abandon her.

Then, there's Mira

Tough. Bold. Straightforward. But no matter how much she loved her new found family/friends, she fears that the secrets and lies would break them apart and would try her best to help the people she loves.

And last and most of all, Zoey

Cheery. Whimsy. People pleaser. Seen as a weirdo in her past. Because of her loud and fun personality and mixed environment, she never feels like she belonged anywhere, and when she met the girls (Huntr/x) she feels like she finally belongs somewhere (Like Mira) and would do her best to keep that family together and happy.

I see myself in every girl and it hurts my heart when Gwi-ma gets the better of them (especially when Zoey was told "you're too much and not enough). Because I said out loud "These girls are amazing, they don't deserve that!"

Then I realized that they have parts of me too. And if I can love them with qualities I have that they have in common with me. Surely I can love myself too, right?

I think the reason people don't take me seriously when I tell them I'm Aroace, is because I'm not timid about my sensuality and hopeless romanticness.

I wear revealing outfits

Make stupid sex jokes

Constantly talk about romance

Wishing for love

Always reading smut and romance

I dance provocatively

I love showing affection to my friends

And because of this, people don't take me seriously and I constantly have to re-explain myself. Which sucks. Because I'm all of those things, but I'm still Aroace. Does it feel invalidating? Kinda..

I just can't stop thinking how Kpop Demon Hunters would've been amazing as a 2 season mini series with 13 episodes each..

Like just imagine Gwi-ma and the Saja Boys plotting some type of shit every episode, and the girls always save the day...

Meanwhile, every episode is full of banter between Huntrix and Saja Boys every time they clash during awards, variety shows, interviews, etc...like just imagine Zoey and Mystery Saja being asked to host MAMA together, or Mira being called up on stage along with Romance Saja & Abby to announce a winner of an award..and Rumi and Jinu doing one of those dance collabs special performance..ALL THE WHILE THEY'RE LITERAL ENEMIES &, SECRETLY FIND IT INFURIATING BUT BOTH SIDE ALSO CAN'T HELP BUT ENJOY E/O COMPANY.

Also Jinu always flirting with Rumi amidst their fights in every episode 😏 + Zoey and Mystery Saja having cutest interactions every time, and everyone else has to remind them they're supposed to hate eo 🥹

The other Saja Boys becoming more tame and humane with the more time they spend in the human realm, and they begin questioning their actions, and it slowly begins gnawing them from the inside..

what jinu allegedly did in canon for saja boys to become successful:

recruit four demon members and somehow convince them to join his boyband BEFORE getting Gwi-Ma's approval

taught them how to do different, but synchronized poses on cue

watch over and learn the evolution of modern kpop music, culture, fashion, and fandom

song lyricist & choreographer where he wrote (atleast) two singles and planned every move and expression.

made sure some of the choreo was memorable and easy enough to replicate and go trending

design brand collaterals like the soda cans, billboards, train displays, posters, ad videos, light sticks, oh and the logo too

basically a social media manager to create, edit, and schedule their social media posts

plan a photo and video shoot with the saja boys

record a studio version of soda pop and release it on streaming platforms

publicist where he basically booked them to the variety show, created a PR campaign and all to create hype for their first debut show in public to have some audience (the huntrix girls noted that there were more people than usual in the area before the saja boys' first performance)

gave the boys PR training

booked an entire stadium for the midnight concert

did a kpop boyband bootcamp to wrangle four demons into becoming the perfect idol to act, sing and dance

probably did a 1on1 for each saja boy too to create and establish their character

—all so he can forget his shame and memories

When people say that romance is the greatest thing in the world, they mean to say they appreciate a certain idealized aspect of romance that is a mere tip of an iceberg which do not at all include the darker things that also often accompany it. All things considered, it really depends on the situation whether romance is a great thing, or even the greatest thing, in other words, whether the good outweighs the bad, and in lots of cases it does not. Moreover, even if we were to narrowly and foolishly define romance as only the blissful honeymoon felt in limited bursts, there are many other things in life that bring equal if not greater joy and pleasure. The potent love of a pet, child, family, friend, a comrade. The love for painting, writing a novel, dancing in a moonlit parking lot. The pleasure felt sinking in a lavender milk bath, walking barefoot in a spring meadow surrounded by quacking ducks, sinking your teeth into a dark chocolate berry cake with a cup of creamed coffee, listening to your favorite music while high on psychedelics, a perfectly cooked scallop, screaming on stage performing with your rock band, the list is endless. One could say all these things are romance as you are romanticizing with life, but then we are in a muddle of definition and language, not trying to see if romance is the greatest thing in the world.

And I low-key got hurt? My friend currently has said yes to her suitor and I am so happy for her, I really am.

My friends and I were laughing together when I had said "well I'm aroace, so I don't know what romance is like"

Then someone cuts in with that comment?

It felt..odd? Literally everyone before me is gushing about their romantic relationships (which I have no problem with) but I can't say "oh you don't have to ask me, I don't exactly know what that's like"?

Hey love! Alright, so I talked about how people see romantic relationships as a priority for students and teens. I talked about the toxic Romanticism of romantic relationships. I saw plenty of students and teens failing school, ruining friendships and other relationships for their romantic relationships.

And unsurprisingly. When I gave the report, I was called "too serious" and "prudish" because I haven't dated before and that I "didn't know what it was like"

I gave examples like, teens forcing a relationship because they think that it's what they should do, little girls and boys thinking that others hurting or teasing them is okay because "they had a crush on them", and of course, teens and adults experiencing emotional and mental abuse because "that's just how relationships work"

So I made people question me, got mad at me, and called me weird for it.

I think I did a pretty good job (feel free to ask more! I'll try my best to answer)
