With Steve, I always viewed it that he probably had been in love before and he probably did have a lady, maybe even had a family, and lost that to this awful conflict. The thought of falling in love is so painful for him that he could not allow himself to do it. It had to be about a mission, it had to be God and country, but it could not be him and what he wanted. Heâs got a mission that, up until the very last, is his driving force. Along the way he happens to fall madly in love with a goddess. And he just holds off and holds off and holds off until he canât bear to let her go.
Chris Pine, on Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman: The Art And Making Of The Film (via tumblethroughthekaleidoscope)

Ah, time for my one Pride joke: I was talking to a conservative the other day and they asked me âHow come Pride has to be in the summer? It should be in September when the kids are back in school and donât have to see itâ but I pointed out itâs right there in the bible, Pride cometh before the Fall
I think the most iconic thing about Wonder Woman is that she never has to prove herself as a woman, only as a warrior. Like this is a movie set during a point in time where (most, if not all) women couldnât even vote and yet whenever sheâs fighting there are no comments on her gender. She doesnât have to seduce men and they donât underestimate her-they just see her as something to shoot at. The fact that sheâs a better fighter than Chris Pine doesnât emasculate him like it would in any other movie, itâs a logical fact. Wonder Woman (2017) worked because it wasnât trying so goddamn hard to convince you that a girl was worthy of fighting with the guys-it took that as fact and worked from there. And as a result, Diana got to experience such a complex and moving character evolution-optimism, doubt, a crisis of morality, and the development of a new, evolved worldview-that is incredibly rare if not unheard of in any movie with a female protagonist, let alone one in an action movie. Wonder Woman is this iconic feminist figure but the movie wasnât selling store brand pseudo empowering âgirl power,â it was a heroâs journey, a film about loss and doubt and growth whose hero just happened to female, and as a result it was one of the most complex, resonant arguments for female personhood that Iâve ever seen on screen.
I might not be the coolest, smartest or prettiest but for sure Iâm the sleepiest.

poor Diana imagine your first impression of men being Steve Trevor/Chris Pine and heâs funny and charming and sweet and brave and selfless and then after setting the bar so high suddenly you have to go and deal with the rest of the fuckboys in the world and have your illusions shattered

Like⌠Did Reese Witherspoon literally have a baby with herself?
So we can all agree that Reese Witherspoon has mastered cloning, yeah?
Andy Samberg:Â Remember the time in 5th grade when you accidentally said, âI donât shut up, I grow up, and when I look in the mirror, I throw upâ and Ilan and I laughed so hard?
Chelsea Peretti: Yes. I was trying to flip it and be like, âWhen you look in the mirror you throw up,â but I failed really bad. Thatâs the day I learned to always draw within the lines and think inside the box.
âPatty Jenkins worked really hard with her team to design a style of fighting that was incredibly badass, and believable. Where Batman will punch somebody in the face, and thatâs effective, thatâs not how the Amazons and Diana fight. They have a disciplined specialized, collaborative fighting style. They work together as a team, and leverage each otherâs strengths. They are mighty, they are beautiful. And as the Germans learn, this new breed of badass warrior women are deadly.â
