Unlawful assembly has officially been declared at the protest at the precinct on Humboldt in Brooklyn Center, MN, over the murder of Daunte Wright. A dispersal order has been issued to the crowd. Armored trucks with SWAT have arrived at the precinct on Humboldt. Protests will be going all night, and the way it's looking right now, they will be escalated by the police into violence. The PSNI then turned water canons on the rioters (despite the fact loyalists have been rioting for a week, only the nationalist rioters were subjected to this)

The people have no faith in the police or the politicians and there is no end in sight

though seriously, the riots in belfast are a symptom of british ignorance towards northern ireland and a facet of continued british colonialism. loyalists groups are calling for the withdrawal from the good friday agreement, which will severally impact the peace in northern ireland. and last night, the PSNI fired rounds and water canons at rioters, which are predominantly made up of teenagers and fuckin kids (and those they fired upon were springfield road, a nationalist community).

a rise in sectarian politics over the years between republican and loyalist groups have lead to this. this isn't the fault of brexit, though the irish sea boarder may be a factor, but this is the fault of british ignorance towards those in northern ireland. it's the fault of older people forcing and egging these kids on to continue a legacy of sectarian violence. it's the continued, vitriolic legacy of british colonialism in northern ireland.

today, 8th of april, is the international rromani day. today the rroma are still subjected to discrimination, marginalisation and segregation. discrimination is widespread in every field of public and personal life, including access to public places, education, employment, health services and housing. the rroma community is still not regarded as an ethnic or national minority group in every member state (in europe) and thus it does not enjoy the rights pertaining to this status in all the countries concerned.

bring awareness of this issue. this is a map with that reflects the size of the rroma population in each european country.
