(Starter from @andromeda-lyra )
It had been a stressful past few months for Lyra. Just finishing up home-schooling, graduating and coming down from a tour the year prior... never a dull moment it seemed. But summer was the time for breaks. And with recently graduating, it only freed up her schedule more. Unfortunately that meant more time to tour and sing in her fathers eyes. So, to kill two birds with one stone... Lyra had suggested she get a little summer vacation. After all, beaches, ice cream, sleeping in, etc were all great things that could inspire a song. So of course, this put her in the scenic location of beach city. Little town, beaches, shops and even an amusement park. Perfect little summer vacation!..maybe they hadn't had the chance to update their brochure... because... the bustling beachside town was far more alive than it had been there. New fixtures were to be expected of course but the longer Lyra stayed the more new things she noticed. She loved it, dont get her wrong. But she was sort of hoping for something more... relaxed. And definitely not... brightly colored and varying in alien shapes..?
Definitely not what she was expecting.
Exiting the car that brought her to the hotel she'd be staying at for the summer, lyra couldnt help but get lost in her surroundings. Everywhere she looked was just... different. Shes traveled to loads of places and met so many different people but nothing like this! Honestly, she wasn't expecting to actually get any work done, but this was actually starting to inspire her. So, after she put all her luggage in the hotel, checked in and all that... she knew she needed to do some immediate sight seeing.
Armed with her bag and sunglasses, lyra set out to the town on foot... everyone seemed so happy and cheerful... physically colorful and full of life. A fact she couldnt stop thinking about... how were they so... different? She couldnt think of any other word to describe them other than just 'colorful'. But what really got her was the shining gemstones visible on most of them. Lyra had never, not once in her life ever met another person with a gemstone stuck in their body and these people just walked around like it was normal? She felt like her head was spinning.
Gripping her own gem under her shirt subconsciously, Lyra continued walking. Maybe one of the shops here would have an up to date brochure, or guide or map... something. Because from first impressions alone, she could already tell that there was much, much more to all of this than just weird neon people with questionable fashion sense...
He knew better, he always did. Keeping himself locked away and out of anyone’s view was just bound to make people question his whereabouts or his current activites. Considering how ‘popular’ he was in a broad sense, of course one of his close friends would eventually barge in to break the mold and check on him, so he needed to cut this cycle before it got worse.Soon enough he was throwing on his pink jacket; one of the ones that managed to not get shredded to pieces, and slipped on his shoes ready to head out for the day. He had about 7 to 8 hours before the shapeshifting would strain his body so he’d better make the best of it. Sadly he couldn’t do much to hide the semi-noticable extended canines and pink-diamond-shaped pupils, atleast being able to without the spikes and purple splotches that littered his skin when it really got at it’s worse. With a soft huff he was descending the stairs by foot since his powers didn’t exactly work as well as they used to, and made his way through the front door.
The distinct smell of salt and ocean smacked him in the face as it always did, the scent only making him wince slightly as he had been copped up in his room for so long, pushing it aside and continuing onwards through the sandy terrain. He planned to visit beach city; maybe grab a bite to eat for the first time in a few days, and then of course visit Little Homeworld to check up on everyone and rest their worries about him; he didn’t want people to worry, and they didn’t need to. To help distract himself he hummed to himself, glancing upwards to see not a single cloud in the sky and a cool breeze keeping the heat at ease; it was a really nice day, and it was helping him feel better about stepping out.The sand was behind him now as he walked up on the broadwalk onto the sidewalk, giving a hopeful smile to anyone in eyesight and stuffing his hands in his pockets out of habit.
There was so much he could do really besides just visiting Little Homeworld; taking the warp pad to mom’s garden, or visiting the Diamonds back on their planet to check on them as well along with Spinel, and even visiting Jasper didn’t seem like such a bad idea, despite her obvious disagreement to seeing him but he didn’t mind it; Jasper was always a hardheaded gem. The thought made him chuckle as he continued forward, humming more with an upbeat attitude that hadn’t seen the light of day in a long while.
