The moment Viv made Alastor Charlie's father figure it became the most hated ship in the entire fandom just because she was pissed off that everyone was demanding her to make it canon instead of just saying that Charlie's already in a relationship with Vaggi, whats worse is that Radioapple is just gay Charlastor but nobody is complaining about because Lucifer is a man and "toxic yaoi"
Charlie doesn't need a father figure, sure her father's an overly coddled manchild, but she's a full grown woman, she can handle things herself
totally agree with you 👀 I could write a lot about how the whole narrative infantilizes a grown ass woman, turning her into a naive child who doesn't learn from mistakes and needs a companion who will lead her by the hand (this means, to where the plot requires her to go), and that Alastor doesn't feel like a father figure at all (let's be honest, he has a vibe of a mean uncle at most), and that this only adds to the enmity of the fandom (fandom likes shipping wars), and many other things
but I just regret that the absence of mature full grown Charlie deprived us of a million jokes about milfhunter Alastor, I REGRET SO MUCH
