âThink our RA would tell on us if we just put this on the wall and said screw it to canvases?â She grins slightly usually not one for trouble but she had a feeling this might be worth the potential trouble. As the music starts up she finds herself starting to move to it. âWho is this? itâs pretty good.â
âWell. . .â Alex said, getting a kind of mischievous glint in his eyes as he said, âNah. I think itâd be fine. Iâm more willing to beg for forgiveness and bribe âem with spaghetti than use canvasses for our masterpiece of an idea. Because I donât know about you, but I do not feel like carrying wall-sized canvasses all over the place. I have enough to carry around as it is.â And that is why, in the mother of art, humanity invented sale.
Alex smiled slightly, glad that the other liked his choice in music as he said, âNateWantsToBattle. He put an album called Paid In Exposure awhile back and I think itâs pretty cool.â
âYou really think spaghetti would work? That would be more than doable. I guess weâll have to go out and buy some more paint.â She looks at her paints and shakes her head knowing it isnât enough for the whole room then begins digging through her bag looking for her pencils to work on sketching out ideas.Â
âMind putting on the whole album? For creativity.â She flashes him a quick smile.

Silus was at the local farmers market purchasing his food for the week. As he was paying for a loaf of bread, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned to see who it was, and found himself face to face withâŚ
Anabelle was walking around as she always did with a canvas bag full of eggs as much as she hated drawing attention to herself she knew she needed to sell her eggs to afford the grain to feed her beautiful flock of buff cochins. The birds were all that kept her sane. She was walking the checkout line offering her eggs to everybody after all some people were prone to forgetting they needed them. She had sold all but her last 2 cartons by the time she reached the front of the line. She lightly tapped the man hoping she wasnât a bother to him.
âHello sir. I was wondering if you needed any eggs today. Fresh laid yesterday morninâ.â A slight blush came over her cheeks green eyes lowered as to not meet the manâs. Every introduction felt so awkward. She was shy and she never knew who might make an unwanted comment on her weight. Â
âHey, sure I love eggs. Was thinking about making a quiche anyways. I donât have a lot of money, but I could offer for you to come eat it with me. My names Silus.â He says with a dazzling smile and stuck out his hand.
âIâll consider. Where might I find you for this quiche ?â She hands the eggs out to him and writes her cell number on one of them. She was nervous she knew going home with strangers is risky but he seemed trustworthy.
He grins and pulls out a scrap of paper. He writes his address and number on it. âThatâs the first time Iâve traded numbers with a pretty girl over eggs.â He says with a wink and a chuckle.
âI guess Iâll call you later.â Ana returns the smile brushing her hair behind her ear shyly and blushes a deep red as she turns to leave.Â
On her drive home she canât help but think about what a date with this guy might be like. Nobody had ever shown interest in her of any kind. Though she was excited she was also cautious what if this was all a trick. Could she really trust a stranger?
He grins and gives waves goodbye before walking back towards home, a loaf of bread and a cloth bag filled with vegetables on one arm and the eggs in the other hand. He smiles, thinking about the breakfast plans, hoping it would go well. She was definitely cute, and seemed really sweet.
After he got home, he put away his groceries and went into the backyard. His yard was bordered by forest, and he went into the woods where he stripped and shifted into a big grey wolf with a black stripe down his back and burning gold eyes. He curls up in the shade under a tree and falls asleep, comfortable surrounded by nature.
Once home she parks her red pick up truck in front of the barn and takes the money and his number into the house. She hangs his number on the fridge before opening a spreadsheet on her desktop and adding the new sales to it. With the important task out of the way she pours herself a glass of sweet tea and heads out the back door to her porch. She takes a seat on the steps setting her drink behind her. âCome on ladies! Momma is home!â She calls. Within seconds large orange hens start coming out from the barn and the woods running toward the steps. Seeing the hens Anna smiles and relaxes as one of the circles of fluff jumps into her lap and settles there. She felt at piece with her hens. Free from the outside world of judgment. @silusthewerewolf
Silus wakes up awhile later and heads back home. He decides to make the quiche that night, so he can just heat it up in the morning. He makes the pie crust from scratch, rolling it out nice and flaky like he had learned from his grandmother. He debates for awhile on what to put in it, and settles with mushrooms, ham, and cheddar cheese. While its in the oven, he starts tidying up the house, wanting to not look like a slob.
After about an hour Anna decides she should get some chores done and gently picks up Buffa gently setting her on the ground before getting up and stretching. She takes her now empty glass inside and grabs a small bag of scratch grain and a woven basket before returning to the outdoors. âTime for bed girls. Common chick chick.â She calls spreading a bit of seed along behind her as she heads for the coop. She dumps some scratch in the pen then goes inside the coop where she gathers up 6 small brown eggs gently placing them in the basket. With the eggs collected and the birds safely in their enclosed run she heads back to the house.
Once inside she puts the eggs into a carton in her refrigerator and finds herself staring at the number she placed there earlier. With a sigh she takes it in her hand and grabs her house phone slowly dialing the number and checking over and over to make sure it is right before hitting the talk button. Part of her wanted him to pick up but at the same time she didnât know what sheâd say.
Silus takes the quiche out of the oven and puts it on a rack to cool. He decides to cut up some fresh strawberries and serve them with it.
*ring ring *
He slightly jumps when the phone rings, but quickly gets over it. He checks the caller ID, happily sees who it is and answers it. âHey Anna. Hows the rest of your day been?â He asks in a light, friendly tone, a grin stretching across his face.
She blushes and is flustered when he picks up she didnât expect him to say her name right off the bat. âHey Silus, alright just did some things âround the farm how âbout yourself?â She couldnât hide that she was nervous and shy though she tried. Realizing she hasnât had dinner yet she starts quietly digging out some pots needing to do something to get some nervous energy out.
He can hear her moving around the kitchen and slightly chuckles. âYou sound nervous. You ok?â He asks, concerned that sheâll cancel on him. âI donât bite.â
She gets some water heating up and starts digging through her cupboard for elbow noodles planning on Mac and cheese for dinner. âIâm fine just donât like phones. How did you spend your day?â She is a bit irritated to have to ask a second time but keeps it out of her voice.
âWent for a walk in the woods, and started getting things ready for our breakfast. Just had a steak sandwich for dinner. Now Iâm just chilling. What you making for dinner?â He asks, trying to make conversation.
âMaybe we could walk sometime. Oh dinner..umm just Mac and cheese nothinâ fancy. I tend to make simple things donât have much time for cooking with the farming.â
âMac n cheese is yummy. One of my favorites. Iâll see you in the morning. Hope you have a good night. â He says softly, smiling.
âYou as well. What time should I show up tomorrow?â She adds the noodles to the water and goes to sit down while they cook.Â
âDoes eight sound okay? Or is that too early?â He asks, stretching out on his couch, trying to get comfy.
âEight is perfect Iâll be up anyway the girls need their morning treats. I hope you have a nice night SilusâŚâ She trails off shyly. She wasnât sure how to end the conversation.Â
âSweet dreams, Annabelle. â He says softly, before hanging up. He curls up in wolf form on one end of his couch and passes out, thinking of sunshine, fresh eggs, and a pretty girl.
His alarm wakes him up at 6, and he throws the quiche in the oven with a loaf of homemade bread. He then jumps in the shower, trying to make himself look extra good for his breakfast date. He puts on a dark purple button down shirt, black skinny jeans, and combs his long wild black hair until itâs mostly tamed.
The next morning she wakes up with the sun and the familiar sound of her hungry hens asking for breakfast and the crow of Cletus the rooster. She stretches out and looks out the large picture window in her bedroom before throwing on overalls and a blue flannel and heading downstairs were she greets her cat while running the sink to fill a bucket.
After feeding and watering her flock she heads back inside where she takes a quick shower before sitting at the kitchen table with a mug of hot chocolate in just a robe enjoying the peace of the early morning. At 7:30 she realizes he didnât give her directions to his house and sighs heavily before going to the phone to give him a call.Â

âForest sounds great would you wanna go dark and creepy, god rays through trees and cute animals, an unknown mythical forest from our brains? There are so many ways we could go with this.â Thinking on the idea she starts to pick up on the energy and creativity and is starting to like this thought but how would they get this big canvas then get it into their dorm room. She was visibly in thought looking at the size of the door.
âGo ahead and throw something on for me, a little background sound for this brainstorming.â
âOh. . .â The possibilities were opening up as he turned around, looking at the walls, rather than the canvasses stacked against his bed. âYeah, there are.â Alexâs voice was far away, building up the thought and excitement for something great as he said, âI propose, that we do a mixture. An unknown mythical forest that bleeds into something more cutesy.â Alex gestured, starting from his side of the dorm to Anabelleâs. âWe could also turn it into a prairie scene, Little House On The Prairie type of thing.â
Alex nodded faintly, tearing himself away from his thoughts as he set a few songs up, adjusting the volume before unplugging his headphones, listening to the music slowly fill the background.
âThink our RA would tell on us if we just put this on the wall and said screw it to canvases?â She grins slightly usually not one for trouble but she had a feeling this might be worth the potential trouble. âThat large may be a bit overwhelming  Iâve never worked on a large wall. The amount of detail could be fun. Who knows maybe we could make a big piece together.â She quietly giggles a bit to herself loving his enthusiasm. âI love country music and alternative most but I listen to most things. Iâve never heard those genres I guess youâll have to introduce me to them. â
Alex looked around at the dorm walls, shaking his head. âI donât think so. People paint walls all the time, itâs just a portable wall when you think about it! And, two words: Forest scene.â Those were some of the most fulfilling to do in his experience. âYeah, yeah. Alternative is great. And heck yeah! Itâll be a stitch. I listen to a fair amount of music so I could just unplug my headphones and start from there. Unless you want my old mixtapes of course.â

âThank you. Birthday Gift.â She responds moving the canvases onto her desk. With the larger suitcase emptied she starts to empty her other one filling her dresser with more colorful clothing. âWho are your favorite musicians and bands?â She asks with a gentle smile before going back to the task at hand.
âAh, hey! Thatâs awesome! You doât have to pay for it then! Those big canvasses are a dream but they can be expensive! What I think would be cool is to have a big olâ canvases that covers the whole wall and work on that. Like, you could do so much with that! Just imagine!â Alex said, beginning to ramble as he got more into the idea as the Anabelle unpacked.
âOh, nothing much really. Iâll listen to most anything once! But uh, tend to be a bit of an internet child, listen to a lot of nightcoreâs and indie music in general. âŚYou? You said something about country didnât you?â

"Maybe we could walk sometime. Oh dinner..umm just Mac and cheese nothin' fancy. I tend to make simple things don't have much time for cooking with the farming."
Encounter
