@anajons-blog
Hey man, last night was crazy right? Shit happened so fast.
‘ —— and if anyone starts snoopin’ around, i’ll pop their eyes out. OR say it’s mine; whichever comes to mind first. let’s check the place out. finders keepers. ’
“ i’d recommend the latter. loosers weepers -- -- what do you hope to find ? i think that alcohol would be nice ; while most material possessions have lost a significant amount of worth, alcohol is treasured because it offers metaphorical worth. feelings. ”
@zibvs ; “ i don't think it's technically breaking in if you own the place, right ? ”
“ no, you cannot break into your own HOME. if you own it. & if not, you’re in luck ; the law matters even less that it did before the apocalypse ! ”
‘ –––– –– relatively? ’
“ apocalypses are FILTHY. ”
“Don’t worry, I act like a child when I’m mad, or more so a distressed adult. I believe that I have reached adulthood, what with the mortality rate and being born into this, I feel as if I have a lot of experiences.”
“ well, that’s settling. sort of. so you don’t intend on making it well into old age ? you don’t believe in this place enough to hope that you could ? perhaps being born into this is an asset ; NOSTALGIA can be a very wicked thing. ”
@analeighjons ;
‘ i was kind of hoping you were in a gang. ’
“ yes well, gangs are messy business, and i like to keep my hands clean. relatively. ”
@analeighjons
“Is everything ok? you look sick.”
“ good to know what i’m feeling on the INSIDE is being expressed on the OUTSIDE too. but in answering your question ; no. i do think i have let this drought get to me. ”
“ Talk like what? There is no harm in being eloquent. I’m not a small child, I have a brain that can think and words are quite important, now. I like to use the right ones.”
“ i just suppose that eloquence is more or less a trait acquainted with ADULTHOOD rather than ... well, the age that you are. i certainly didn’t use all the right words when i was younger. even now i struggle expressing what i truly feel. ”
“Uh, everything?”
“ clearly specificity isn’t your forte. ”
“….. What?”
“ what part didn’t you understand ? ”
“ well once i get around to heating this stuff back up and making a proper cup of coffee, i’ll get back to you so you can have that fond memory once again. the apocalypse isn’t gonna take everything away from us. “ there’s a soft laugh being pulled from his lips as he looks at her, taking a sip of the bitter drink.
“ fair warning, i have very high standards for coffee. but, if you’re up for the challenge, who would i be to STOP you ? i applaud you for still being able to drink that. ”
“You see this kinda shit happening in the movies and you never expect it to really happen. Boy do I wish we were in a movie right now.”
“ i don’t. movies are the WORST parts, the BEST parts and nothing else. the in-between parts are very important. ”
“ oh yeah, there’s nothing better than poorly made coffee made with cold water to wake you up in the morning. now don’t get me wrong, i’m really damn thankful for finding that unopened can of instant coffee, but what i would give for a hot, properly made cup of coffee is unbelievable. you want a cup? tastes like ass, but it gives you that extra little bit of energy. “
“ i’m going to have to PASS, but thank you for the offer ! i have quite the fondest memory of coffee, and wouldn’t want to tarnish it with ... whatever that is. more ass for you ! ”
“ we’re survivors, not babysitters. if they’ve gotten this far then maybe they have some hidden skills. hm, well maybe that’s their advantage. the can sleep with a clear mind. ” the blunt truth was that leland would never bother with someone so naive to begin with. in reality, it made him all the more willing to sacrifice them if the situation should arrive. dead weight was nothing but a burden and should be treated as such.
“ or maybe they just got LUCKY. ” she remarked, raising a single brow. she herself had sometimes wonder whether she was alive on the basis of skill OR luck. she had some of the former, but control was not always autonomous. “ there’s a difference between babysitting and helping. ”
“ y’think little jersey boys let a blind kid push them around ? ”
“ you say that as if jersey boys are worse than the REST. ”
strangely enough ; celeste was GLAD she had taken this opportunity. it meant so much to her that something so small from her meant so much to someone else. that was something that she had never really experience. nothing had ever been permanent in her life. now when she was presented with the opportunity, well, she took it without hesitation. lips broke into a smile as she softly chuckled. “ best friends to the finish line ! “ pinkie offered to make the most sacred promise.
she was smiling from ear to ear ; when she had proposed the idea of being best friends when they had first met, she’d never thought it would LAST. someone would leave, or die, or simply stop caring -- but none of those had happened, and it thrilled her to no end. the possibilities, celeste & analeigh against the world ! “ to the finish line. ” she repeated the words, offering her own pinky. “ i’ve never made a pinky promise before. ” she confessed, her friends had never been like that, but she wanted to be the type of girl who made and kept pinky promises.
