I'm honestly really impressed with the newest Sanders Sides episode tho? Somehow managed to feel like a traditional episode in a good way, while making me excited for the future and also eager to rewatch the whole series to pick apart some of the new info we got

So, I don’t know if anyone else felt like this—

But there was a kind of melancholy I really loved about 2016 Thomas and his sides, kinda bright eyed and hopeful—

And then the contrast of 2025 Thomas and HIS sides hiding in the kitchen and he was very… like real, no-bullsh!t and a little bitter, and just more relatable?

Like it scratched my brain just right—

Do you guys know what I’m talking about? Just the fact that he’s come so far and he’s matured and he’s talking about subject matter that scares him, and swearing more, and not being so smiley and just letting more angst happen, I could go on and on—

thomas trying to compliment logan at the end only for logan to go "...and yet." and thomas just repeats it. holy shit. the quiet confirmation that thomas thinks logan fucked up a little

Just putting it out there that yes I am aware that Logan said the scenes with the young sides aren't actually happening because they're not fully formed yet and the scene is only playing out like that for their understanding, it didn't actually happen.

Yes I'm aware this means that they didn't even really exist canonically

And furthermore no I don't care and I will be using them anyway because I can and it's fun

this episode i think is one of the best examples the show has done of what seems to be a large part of the Problem that thomas/the sides face- they lack compassion for each other. oh it's not intentional (mostly) and it's not malicious (mostly) but for the majority of the series, the Dilemmas have stemmed from one or more sides saying to another, "you are doing something Wrong and i don't understand why". and it tears them all apart, it tears thomas apart, because when all of your Parts are so directly antagonistic to each other, how could you ever learn to accept the Whole? but this episode- they saw each other. like, really saw each other. they saw where the others were coming from, all those years ago. why they made the choices, the mistakes, that they made. because they were all just... learning, learning how to function, how to be brave, how to be mature and open-minded and (ironically) human. and they saw each other, and said oh. oh. i did that too. i felt that too. i was wrong, too. and idk, maybe it's just me, but i felt like this episode ended with the sides just being.... idk. more forgiving. more understanding. more accepting. i feel like, for the first time in a long time, the sides were just full of compassion for each other, and patience, and love.
