In the pouring rain, she stared out the window, wondering what he could be thinking about at that moment. She was trying really hard not to blow his phone up like she had been for the past week. It was a hard time for him, and she should try to understand that on some level. She couldn’t. She just wanted to talk to him and hear his voice. Oh, if she could just hear him talk to her, maybe that would curb some of the anxiety she was going through.

A week was a long time for them to not talk to one another. Extremely long, but maybe Christa was being dramatic. Apparently, he wasn’t talking to anyone. That’s all she knew. However, she took it more personally because she was his best friend. Wasn’t she supposed to be the one who he could come to when things like this happened?

How could she relate to this situation being an only child? Christa listened to upbeat music to try and distract herself, drumming her fingertips on her desk with her eyes closed. He would come to her. He would come to her if he wanted to... but she was trying so hard not to just go to him instead.
