Philosophy and Music Ranting
The lobster said to the man, "Is it not a paradox, that man is the only creature on earth who claims a god, yet is also the only creature who acts like he has none." Is philosophy a collection of pointless rhetoric and unrealistic claims or a device for increasing human insight? I used to love philosophy, but recently I've began to to exchange affinity for general annoyance. Is it wisdom, or is it simply clever wordplay conjured out of a moment of clarity in some bum's LSD based "spiritual experience."
What do you think? Also, Neutral Milk Hotel is great. In fact they are phenomenal. But I need a new band to binge. I've moved to the Decemberists; however, I've found the transition to be way to similar -- and since the Decemberists sound like Neutral Milk Hotel on musical talent steroids with well played guitar parts and the occasional acccordian -- I need a new band to indulge myself with. Any ideas? Recently I've been listening to:
Andrew Jackson Jihad, The Decemberists, Neutral Milk Hotel, Carina Round, and Judas Priest. Any ideas for a completely new listen for me?
