Agent Elvis

By far the best part of the series is McConaughey as Elvis because he just oozes charisma and it’s near impossible to look away. 5/10 (Let down by weirdly immature writing)

QuANTuMANia

A joyously uplifting film that made me laugh, cry and crucially think hard about my future. Anyone unsure of what they want to do with their life should watch it. 9/10

The Fabelmans is the latest film from acclaimed director Steven Spielberg, it’s a semi-autobiographical account of his early life and stars Paul Dano, Michelle Williams and Gabriel LaBelle. I really enjoyed Tár for the first two hours, partly because it sounds incredible – for me Blanchett's performance is deserving of all the awards possible but because of it’s botched ending I can’t call it a masterpiece. 6/10

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a film trying harder to win Oscars than this one, Olivia Colman is “acting” by which I mean she’s being very loud, then very quiet and then a little bit unhinged before returning to comedy.

Avatar: The Way of Water - Stunningly Beautiful but not what I wanted

My main takeaway from the film was that if Blue Planet had been released in 3D on IMAX screens, then it would’ve elicited the same feelings of awe and wonder that the first half of Avatar 2 provided. But without the sloppy final act.

I like Avatar. I’ve always liked Avatar. I was swept away by the visual splendour of Pandora, it’s fair to say that the plot is utterly meaningless when it comes to an enjoyment of the film. Wednesday

I don’t think #Wednesday is perfect, but it is quite enjoyable and looks stunning. If, like me, you wanted a little more bite from Enola Holmes then I’d recommend you watch Wednesday. It offers all the teenage Sherlock vibes plus some real panache.

The power that Tim Burton had in the nineties and early two-thousands is something he’s been chasing for quite a while. I don’t think Wednesday is anywhere near as good as Edward Scissorhands or Mars Attacks! but Burton’s aesthetic is the backbone of the series.
