[OH GOD ...OH GOD ...XD] *kisses* You've got the kissing disease. Send it to the next ten people on your dash.
❝—would sound a tad bit scarier, if it didn’t feel so— lovely.❞
❝—usually i— i try to stay out of trouble, mr. magnussen.❞
Commendable, possibly believable, but in application effective - unlikely. Charles’ mouth crept its way into a wisp of a smile as he pondered the nature of Richard’s philosophies upon the avoidance of the troublesome and bothersome.
Like night and day, or irony steeped in a sweetened melancholy; how siblings could scuttle so far from each other’s nests and hold such different measures of sustenance - distraction or simplicity – Magnussen genuinely held an interest to know; to tear apart and collect.
The road up and the road down were one in the same, so they said –
He emitted a small titter of a laugh before finally speaking, a harmless and yet lofty chuckle that could have resembled an animal struggling to breathe if one closed their eyes and thought of nothing but blackness and dripping water. “With a brother such as your own, Mr Brook,” Charles resonated each word with calculating precision as he lectured the younger man, fingers bridging themselves into an almost complacent stance. “I find it difficult to believe you have much luck in that area – bad blood as it is, trouble must have a way of finding you often.”

Of course he moved closer to her. She shifted a bit in her seat in order to be a bit more comfortable but the way he always moved closer was just always uncomfortable. It was almost as if he was trying to put himself into Jim’s shoes and acting exactly like her former boss had, but it just couldn’t work. It wouldn’t. Naturally, she assumed he already knew what kind of relationship she had had with Moriarty and there was no way Charles was slipping into anything close to that relationship.
"Enjoyable and pleasing?" she inquired, smirking lightly. "I can only imagine how many people you’ve blackmailed today." It would be sooner or later that she would be the one that ended up being blackmailed and she knew it, and as much as she wanted to stop it from happening, she didn’t have a plan yet. Maybe that was why she remained on his good side, until she knew how to keep it from happening. She needed in those vaults, then again, he wouldn’t actually need to keep a physical file on her to know what she did.
Frowning at the mention of Jim, she glanced around. “He would have me do his dirty work,” she said simply, not bothering to go into detail. She didn’t need to give him any information that he could use against her. “You have no dirty work for me to do, so you really couldn’t slip into his role. No one could..” She looked away, bringing a hand up to her mouth for a moment then pushed some hair from her face.
“Hm,” a slight and almost noiseless chuckle escaped Magnussen upon hearing Molly’s latter statement about Jim Moriarty; her imaginative ideas of ‘role fulfilling’ having never before taken up residence in his mind and currently rather entertaining to contemplate – she really was quite charming, if not equal parts deluded, just begging for some prodding.
“Slip into his role,” the blackmailer slurred the words with a tasteless inflection; hissing the enunciation of ‘slip’ wetly. “My dear Molly,” the shuffling of cushions resounded as Charles manoeuvred his body whilst addressing her, winding limbs twisting in closely like a claw desiring to choke the woman of all life; the man slotting into nothing and dominating it entirely. “I have better things to do than participate in the act of Jim Moriarty, dead lunatic.”
Stare locked onto the brunette’s face, Magnussen remained vigilant in his current position; bespeckled eyes scrutinising in their glance as they roamed the Molly’s every feature. A mock-smile graced his lips before he spoke, airy voice losing its knife like former coldness. “I offer distractions and guidance, not a hand to hold, do you understand?” Up, down and then still – cyan orbs flickering a riptide of feelings that couldn’t be placed – Charles’ glance hovered expectantly, expression set to stone.

You can tell how dangerous a person is by the way they hold their anger inside themselves quietly.

Dancing on Strings | Bumby & Magnussen (Set!1875)
"Oh have I hit a nerve with that?" A mischievous smirk tugged at his lips as he sipped the alcohol. The doctor was not one to drink but when offered such an expensive gift, it was most difficult to refuse. He most certainly did not want to be rude.
"Well weren’t you calling the kettle black with your ‘reading too much into things’."
Charles tittered lightly as his friend’s face took on an impish guise, exchange of remarks so doused in discord some might have considered their rendezvous a spiteful affair; incorrect, the exchange of sly smiles and meaningful glances, betraying of said notion.
“You've always known of my penchant for reading, Angus,” Magnussen droned in response, voice so low it was almost lost under the crackle of the fire. “Old habits die hard I guess – of which you are certainly aware.” Underlying possible threats, pulling the feelings of times past and memories of skeletons - matching the playful mask of his companion, Charles reached for the bottle yet again and popped the lid. “More, old friend?”
Have you ever been to the shark tank at the London Aquarium, John? Stood up close to the glass. Those floating flat faces, those dead eyes. That’s what he is.
Even if our threads get dropped, the relationship built between our muses doesn't go away
I’m terrible for losing muse for a thread, and a lot of my threads don’t get finished. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to rp anymore, or that any relationship between our muses is for nothing.

It was strange, the kind of relationship she had with the man. There were times when she couldn’t stand to be around him, when he creeped her to her bones, but other times, he was a comfort. He wasn’t a criminal like her boss, well.. former boss. The thought of Moriarty every now and again wasn’t exactly something she was fond of now, especially because of how she had felt about him and now he was gone. Definitely not the best memories one could have of someone they cared for.
It didn’t matter now, she knew she shouldn’t have been focusing on a dead man.
Magnussen was much different than Jim, and she could never feel fully comforted around the man. Which was odd, because with Jim, even though she knew he could and very well may just kill her at any moment, if she upset him enough, she still felt utterly safe around him. Charles, she didn’t know what to think about him.
Molly moved forward and sat down next to him, crossing a leg over her other than she looked around the room. He hadn’t actually been doing much, but she was sure he was in his own mind, thinking up.. whatever it was that he thought up. “Don’t believe I’m interrupting anything,” she finally said, not knowing what she could possibly interrupt.
“Hm,” Charles responded lightly, eyes haunting Molly’s diminutive form as she slinked forwards and settled herself upon the sofa. The man repositioned himself as the woman at last fell into place, one arm winding to cover the back of the lounger – possessing the area just behind Molly’s shoulders – whilst the other continued its ministrations of idly tossing the contents of his glass back and forth.
“My day has been an enjoyable and pleasing one, Molly,” Magnussen hushed with a lull tone between mouthfuls of his drink; he sipped with the tempered refinement of an artisan, savouring the burning of liquor on his lips before dropping the orb glass to the table. “Interrupting me or not – your company is welcome.” Attention back onto his seating companion, Magnussen bequeathed her an almost affectionate smile, eyes narrowing and corners of the mouth pinching in understanding gesticulation; like how one might regard their pets cuddling up to them.
“But you must be bored by now, starved even,” Charles accentuated each word with a lazy picking of any stitching that fell under his nails. "Maybe you need something to occupy your time with - what did Jim Moriarty have you do?"
- a bored cat was prone to tear up the furniture and then run.
