He/him, Early 20s, fan of queer fantasies and YA romances, niche and minor role characters/ships are my JAM apparently, check my posts for the fandoms i partake in. Also an absolute nerd for Ahsoka Tano.
"average superhero has multiple names & identities" factoid actualy just statistical error. average superhero has two names & identities. Agent Daisy Louise Skye Tremors Quake Mary Sue Poots Destroyer of Worlds Jacqueline Rippon Sinara Smith Johnsons Georg, who has too many fucking names and identities to keep track of, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
As if Joanne couldn't get any shittier, she misgendered and insulted a woman who called for support, all because the woman had PCOS/PMOS and "didn't sound feminine enough."
Fuck her.
Your shitty children's series isn't more important than people's lives.
while I’m here in the X-Men reboot vibes before i turn against the mcu again, i have some ideas for what i would like to happen:
i really think they should bring back Chloe Bennet as Quake as the Director of a resurrected SHIELD (explanation below)
One thing i really felt was unexplored with Daisy’s character in AoS was that if she DOES want Inhuman liberation and freedom (which ngl, it feels like the writers forgot about by s5), she can’t accomplish it working within the system of SHIELD/national security
because of this, i think it could be very well explored if you give Daisy the role of a Val Cooper esque, being a very sympathetic ally of the X-Men, but may ultimately is still a US government asset before a mutant ally
we can have Daisy start off as someone who presents herself and believes herself to be an ally of the mutant cause, but prioritises national security, and then have a Genosha-type tragedy that can further radicalise her (see, Val Cooper’s ‘Magneto was right’ speech in X-Men ‘97) and make her a more active ally, and maybe leave SHIELD or break it away from being a government agency
now the primary problem, how do we reconcile the history of AoS with an MCU that at this point is clearly a universe that has left that history behind. There’s no way a writer can simultaneously allow both Inhumans and mutants in the same universe, while having to introduce both to audiences at the same time. This leads to, imo, two options
the first, give this Daisy and SHIELD a soft reboot. Daisy being an inhuman means little more than ‘descended from humans who were genetically modified to have powers’, and the wider inhuman storyline is more or less ignored by the current canon. This is, in my opinion, the messiest of the options writing wise, but is more likely to satisfy a lot of AoS fans
the second, and maybe better, option, is to do a harder reboot on Daisy and SHIELD. Retcon Daisy so that she’s, stay with me here, a mutant who’s X-gene somehow manifested in her 20s as opposed to a teenager (because we ARE keeping Chloe Bennet). We can still keep the vast majority of AoS’ first 1.5 seasons, making the necessary changes to keep it in line with the current MCU canon. We can keep a lot of the foundation of what makes AoS Daisy Daisy, with the changes that the MCU ignoring AoS demands
petition to get marvel to make daisy johnson appear in avenger movies, specifically with chloe bennett still playing her, because she’s so powerful and awesome
Idiots will be like, "Prison abolishion!!! Fuck cops!!! ACAB!!!" and then sneer in contempt when you suggest criminals are people who should have basic human rights. Like bitch, what the fuck did you think "prison abolition" meant???
Oat milk was discovered much more recently than you may have known. Like many now-familiar technologies, it was found by accident during the Apollo program when NASA learned what a zero-g environment does to goat milk.
somebody on twitter blocked me for saying that the status quo does not see trans people as men or women but a deviant, third gender. he told me "☝️its really transphobic to say that trans people arent the gender they really are and that theyre a third freak gender"
like yeah I know it is. are you saying im transphobic for pointing out that transphobia exists.
Everything I learn about Peter Capaldi makes him infinitely cooler. He's a Scottish independent, he's a gutarist-director-actor, he met Tom Baker as a teen and got in a newspaper, he likes the theater and pantomime, he's a punk, people make asexuality pride gifs of him as Malcolm Tucker here, his main companion in his run of DW is now an immortal oil lesbian
potentially controversial but i don't think "male sexuality is inherently predatory (and so if you don't want to be predatory, you're probably a girl) is a winning feminist take. i actually think it's exactly the opposite and we should really be avoiding the implication that predatory misogynistic behavior is biological and not social in nature
me when I’m a lesbian who was forced to have children as a child and my fated half is getting eaten out and praised by another woman and my daughter is having a breakdown and a child and I’m miles away and the assassin sent with me to kill my son is killed by my son and so I have to kill my son who wants to kiss me to somehow get back to my daughter and I don’t want to kill my son with my own hands but most of all I don’t want my son to kiss me again and my son’s witch lover won’t let me kill my son and won’t let me be gay even in dreams and so I’m trapped with my scary son I tried to kill and a hot 200 yo witch who hates me
I think we should keep spreading misinformation about Charlie Kirk’s death being a inside job within TPUSA because it’s a really decisive thing among influencers on the right rn and it slows down their propaganda machine because they’re too busy arguing about this bum. First time saying this but yeah, sure, that public figure’s wife put a hit out on him. It was Erika, don’t give up on getting him justice, Candace!
parents took me out to see new spider man (bad, obviously) and its like. i don't know if anything could make this a good movie but there are SO. many places where i can see really easy fixes into making it a functional one. like they should let me write these i don't care i can write dumb bad shit that still coheres.
"is it better to read non fiction or novels?" No. It is better to read than not to read full stop. That is the only argument. Let's not create yet another fake scale of who is a better reader. I am so fucking tired of this kind of discourse. If you only read graphic novels you are still reading and that is better than not reading. If you only read middle grade books despite being in your 30s you are still reading and that is better than no reading. If you read one single book a year it is still good because you are reading. And that makes you a reader.
