gonna rant for a second y'all which I never want to do

the tadc fandom has been spiraling out of control for months now, but THIS is a new low. jax and pomni being the main characters has been pretty obvious from the beginning. if you'd put down the shipping wars for 5 seconds you'd see their canon dynamic is PERFECT for moving the story along. jax is an ANTAGONIST, a character who's beliefs go against the main protagonist.. that's all there is to it. jax and pomni are two stubborn people moving towards different goals and clashing with eachother. and no where ever at all did goose imply the other characters were going to be just as important, there simply isn't enough time.

you can have your disagreements with how the show is being written, and you can disagree with the way goose implied there'd be "character focused episodes" and trust me, I also have my own critiques, but trash talking the artist TO THEIR FACE and harassing them till they no longer want to be associated with us IS DISGUSTING.

i think you all forget this is an indie animation, everyone is very tight knit so every vile thing you say to goose is 100% seen by her. it has been very upsetting seeing her slowly lose interest in her own fandom overtime after we had all promised to be a good fandom and to treat her with respect.

this isn't my first rodeo with toxic fandoms, so no I won't let the bad side deter me from making art and loving the show, but I'm gonna be veryyyy careful with the fans I choose to interact with.

if you can't recognize the very basic story telling present in the show and you think it's okay to spew hatred then YOU need to leave the fandom. you can critique a show without acting like animals.

have some respect for the artists who are making their art for FREE, and have respect for your fellow fans.

I can't stop watching Shauna and Jackie's fight scene in Yellowjackets because Shauna saying "how would you know?" when Jackie asks if she likes Jeff is the perfect summary of their relationship.

Because no, Shauna doesn't like Jeff, but Jackie wouldn't know if she did.

The same way that she doesn't hate soccer, or being called Shipman, or even Jackie herself. What she hates is that Jackie never asked.

Of course Jackie wanted to go to college with her and live out their lives together because all she wants in her future is Shauna. It would never occur to her to ask if that's what Shauna wants, because they're ShaunaandJackie. Of course they want the same things. Jackie doesn't want to be her own person seperate from Shauna, and she would never assume that's what Shauna wants.

They have morphed into one person and Shauna doesn't know how to get out of that except by lashing out at Jackie.

But then Jackie dies. And Shauna's free. She doesn't need to be in a toxic codependent relationship anymore. Except, no, she's not. She can't escape Jackie, and she doesn't want to.

I don't know where you end and I begin

She eats the ear. And she marries Jeff. It's too late, she and Jackie have already morphed into one person and there's nothing she can do.
