When she had moved to Anchorage to work on a project her stay was only meant to be temporary, but she began putting down roots as she met and began dating someone new. At first it might have been a rebound from the breakup that drove her away from DC, but then she bought space and opened up a book bar and things started getting serious between Lena and the person she was dating. They were definitely in love but after close to a few years the relationship had ended. We can discuss the reasons. Maybe it was getting to the point of the next step like marriage or something to that effect, maybe they had to move away, but I want to say it ended amicably. This relationship was a really good experience for her and she's trying to grow and be a more mature adult that doesn't rely so heavily on her heart and love. With them being around that might be pretty difficult for her.

Before her career really took off, she had gone from the emptiness of dating to a relationship with another woman. It was upsetting to her family and her culture but Lena sacrificed for love. For her. It was something she thought she would have forever, and maybe so given that parts of her relationship with her first love have been immortalized in her art. Things moved fast, however, and looking back Lena can recognize that now. And maybe even notice all the signs she was blind too while young and in love for the first time. When her project had ended in New York, she moved back home to Washington DC to be with her family and her girlfriend surprisingly came with her. Two years later into that relationship, Lena felt the strain of it, of the impending end. Because of that she acted irrationally and had asked her partner to marry her. When she was told no and that her partner wanted out, Lena packed up her heartbreak and moved on with her life without another word to the woman that became her ex.

is there any way to add a rule to where not everyone is in their early thirties?

Hey! After taking a look at our residents page we do see where you’re coming from with this request. While we do have a few characters in their mid to late thirties we understand it’s not the greatest display in diversity when it comes to age. We have promoted faceclaims over the age of forty and we will discuss if there’s some guideline we can implement moving forward to further encourage a range in character age. At the end of the day we want our writers to have the creative freedom to write and develop the characters they have the muse for.
