It’s interesting to me that every PNWesterner, particularly Oregonians just have this knowledge that people shit in the streets of Portland. Like, literally everybody knows that the way we handle homelessness is so bad that people don’t have a place to go to the bathroom in privacy. Even more disturbing, seeing the influx of people coming into Oregon to get that Hipster/Portlandia aesthetic causes rent to jack up, because contractors are tearing down historic buildings for gentrified high rises, which causes the people who have lived here for possibly generations to no longer afford a place to live and now they don’t even have a place to go to the bathroom, and the people moving here don’t care. Basically, if you’re wanting the PNW lifestyle, don’t move here. We’re all going to die in the earthquake anyways, just let these people have their damn toilets. Move to New England instead, it’s essentially the same thing.

Honestly. I don't understand the whole aesthetic of Portland. Why move to Oregon where the ocean is beautiful, the air is fresh, and the forests are immense. Instead you'd rather live in a city that just tries so damn hard to be different that it ends up being like every other city. It's okay though. You can always reblog pictures of the real aesthetics of Oregon on tumblr from your crappy expensive apartment.
