#tbt to this past Monday when I was sporting this outfit & feeling confident!!! Recently, I've had many discussions about being fit- weight gain/weight loss, and confidence. Let me tell y'all, fit&confident is not attached to a number on a scale. It's not attached to a pant size or a shirt size. It is attached to a feeling. It is attached to encouragement. So ladies --let us do the dang thing- let us empower & encourage each other. Let us call each other beautiful and mean it. Exercising and eating healthy are great, don't get me wrong. I am all for a healthy lifestyle, but I'm more so for a kind & loving one. Love the body you're in. Love who you are right now. Yesterday was just the best. Church, followed by a date day that included pizza, coffee at @endgraincoffee followed by ice cream at @alauracandy with some great friends. This outfit was one that was way out of my comfort zone, but I went for it because the way I've been transforming lately is with confidence. God has been slowly healing me from the inside out and helping me to see my beauty. Helping me to take risks with fashion, not caring what people think or say. Helping to remind me over & over what he calls me (beautiful, beloved, fearfully&wonderfully made) - and that above all else, that's all that matters. Tonight, I sat in a room with my co-leaders and some of our middle school friends and discussed identity. What people say about us vs. what Jesus says about us. My heart breaks for these kids who put their identity in how many views they get on Snapchat, likes & followers on Instagram & Facebook, and being "popular". We challenged them to take this week and look at what they put their identity in and if it's pointing them to truth & if it is eternal. I'm challenging myself to do the same, and do some real soul searchin' because I want to be the kind of leader that practices what they preach. Today as I was driving on my lunch break, the skies suddenly got very dark. Then all of a sudden these cracks of light started to shine through. Today, it helped to remind me of this verse "the light shines in the darkness and the dark has not overcome it". When my week is long, when things look dark, I find rest in the comfort of that verse.
