“Don’t you know I can make anything?” A joke, though he was confident in his drink mixing abilities. “B-52,” he repeated, combing through his memory, it wasn’t something he was asked for often. “That’s the one with Irish Cream, right?” Pulling three bottles and a shot glass out, he laughed at her comment. “Thank you, Andie, always so sweet.” She wasn’t wrong, the exhaustion was settling in today. “Just been a boring day, makes it seem like I’ve been here eight hours already. Sophie was having nightmares last night, kept me awake until 4 am. I was hoping I’d be busy enough to stay distracted, but I guess everyone has other plans today.”
“Or no one has challenged you yet.” Andie retorted, but she knew that Joel’s skill was pretty great. He knew what he was doing, that’s for sure. “You got it!” Settling in her seat, she pulled her cell phone as he began to mix the drinks. Andie grinned at him, shrugging her shoulder. “My sweetest is why you love me.” She joked but her expression sobered as he began to speak about Sophie. Andie adored his little girl and whenever she babysat for him, it always ended up being such a joy for her. “That does suck; I’m sorry. I hope she has a better night If you need a day to recoup or whatever, you know I’m always free to watch her. We always have fun together.”
“I took French for four years of my life and I don’t know what you just said but using context clues I’m gonna quote Stephanie Tanner from the sitcom Full House and say, how rude.” she pursed her lips that quickly turned into a smile. Channeling the sass of a seven year Jodie Sweetin she pivoted on her heels and followed Andie into the kitchen. “Oh I remember and I couldn’t look the guy in the eye when he came and asked me how a pair of my panties ended up down the drain. Do you know how humiliating that was?” her pale skin flushing a shade of crimson at the memory. “Okay but be aware it sounds.. well demonic.” she raised her eyebrows and flicked the switch. A crunching screaming noise came from the faucet, gurgling below the pipes. “See?”
“That’s ‘cause it’s Spanish, not French, silly.” Andie chuckled, almost snorting that the impressive impersonation of Stephanie Tanner. Lennon got the pout and everything. Andie’s mind flashed back to that unfortunate incident, recalling this big plumber guy holding a pair of lacy pink panties, bright red in the face. Needless to say, the tip given to his man had been a nice one. “Uh... yeah I do. I was there remember? Almost died choking on my tea when he showed us the lacy thing.” Andie leaned against the counter as Lennon flipped the switch and she cringed at the screeching that came from their sink. Quickly turning it off, Andie sighed, debating on whether or not calling the plumber was even worth the embarrassment again. Pulling out her cell phone, she began to search through youtube for video on how to do this. “I’m not calling that guy again. Way too humiliating. Do we have a wrench or something here? I’m sure we can figure it out ourselves.” Probably not, but it was worth a try. What was the worst that could happen?
Joel liked his job — as much as he could like a job, anyway. It was fun to mix drinks, make conversation with wasted people and see how many tips he was able to weasel out of said people. Tonight was rough, though. It wasn’t very busy, and no one seemed interested in giving him a challenge, which was the whole fun of the job. For the last two hours he’d found himself wishing he was at home drawing pictures with his daughter. Noticing another customer walking up to the bar, he leaned against the counter, offering them a tired smile. “What’ll it be, love? I’m warnin’ you, if it’s only a bottle of beer you want, I might just cry.”
Today...oh today had been rough. She had deadlines at work and school piling up on her and with all the pressure, it seemed that Andie was making less progress as the day dragged on. It finally hit a point where she knew she couldn’t keep working and needed a break. The Waterhole was always a safe spot to visit. It had people she knew and vibe she could relax in. Andie smiled at the familiar face behind the counter, settling in her seat. “Well, I actually heard of this shot I wanted to try.” It was rare when Andie drank shots, preferring a glass of wine most nights. “Can you make B-52 shot? The layering of it looks pretty cool.” It was then Andie took in Joel’s appearance, her eyebrows knitting momentarily in concern. “You looks downright beat.”
“I hate to sound like an idiot here but either I think there is a gremlin in our garbage disposal or I dropped a fork down there and I’m too scared to proceed. Part of me hopes its a gremlin but the other part of me wants to burn the apartment to the ground and cut our losses just in case.” Lennon leaned on the door frame entering Andie’s room. “Just thought I’d give you a heads up before the flames.” she teased.
Listen to what isn’t being said. Gremlins. Andie scowled as her brain tried to re-read that last sentence from her book the Butterfly Garden only to realize that Maya hadn't not uttered that last word but rather it came from her roommate as she entered her bedroom. Folding the corner of the page, Andie placed the book down and rolled her eyes in amusement. “Ay no seas exageradora.” She giggled, swinging her legs over her bed and ushering Lennon to the kitchen. “You probably dropped something in it, like last time.” A flashback memory came to her then, recalling the whole plumber situation. “Turn it on, I want to hear it.... maybe I can fix it so we don’t have to go through all that again.”
Cross legged on the sidewalk Ellie sat, weaving petals together, a half eaten pb&j on the paper plate beside of her. The garden was her favorite place, it reminded her the most of home. She spent most of her free time there, just taking in the beauty of all the plants. Startled by the sound of someone approaching, she was quick to explain, irrationally worried about the consequence of making flower crowns with property that didn’t belong to her, “I wasn’t picking them! They’d already fallen off.”
It was a quiet day for Andie, thankfully, and she had decided to take a half day. With everything she had on her plate, she knew the importance of taking a sabbath to rejuvenate. That’s exactly what she planed to do this afternoon. She walked into the garden with a blank canvas, her easel and paints, ready to spend an afternoon. She was startled by the sudden outburst, almost dropping her belongings, before putting a hand to her heart. “Oh jeez.” Andie laughed at herself, breathing deeply. “Don’t worry; I’m not innocent to picking flower either.” She gave the other girl a smile, taking a look at her crown. “That’s very pretty.”

♦ Andie has 3 older sisters and 1 older brother. Layla is the oldest, then comes Karla, Benjamin and Luisa.
3. Raised with very traditional values…
♦ But having grown up in different circumstances than the rest of her family, she has more modern and liberal views.
4. Andrea went to college at Liberty University…
♦ and graduated top of her class with a major in Information Technology. She is currently studying her for masters in Public Relations.
5. She is currently working as a Event Planner…
♦ Despite having an IT major, Andie fell in love with event planning and found she was actually really good at it. She was working in a top tier event planning company in New York City - solely because her parents had the right connections - but when her dad’s health began to decline, Andie decided to move closer to home and take a job that still let her do what she loved but wasn’t as demanding as NYLUX. Working for Highland Country Club provided her both.
6. The Morales family is very close…
♦ At least until Andrea chose to partake of Married At First Sight 2 years ago. Layla, her mother and Karla could not support such a wild decision. They thought it was reckless and an insult to a union they were taught as sacred in front of God. They haven’t spoken to her since. Her marriage proved to be hard and she divorced her husband shortly after the show ended.
♦ The Morales family were a typical immigrant family and early on, they struggled a lot to make ends meet. They settled in the outskirts of Highland. Andie is very well aware of what it is like to live in poverty. Her father and mother worked very hard in life and were able to build a successful life for themselves. Her father created his own construction business while her mother developed a business flipping houses. Together, they made a pretty amazing team. This afforded Andie a pretty well life later on.
♦ Her family raised her as a devote Christian and she still practices her faith. It’s a major part of who she is and what she does in life...most of the time.
♦ At 23, Married At First Sight came to New York City and Andie took a chance. She was casted onto the show and was married. Her married was great for the first year but then slowly broke apart and the couple was divorced a year and half after the show. She hasn’t dated anyone seriously since then and isn’t sure she ever wants to.
♦ She’s very motivated and dedicated to work.
♦ Andie is a wild child inside and loves to have a good time. She may make it seem like she has everything together, but she doesn’t.
♦ She’s a yoga and kickboxing enthusiast.
♦ Andie knows how to play the piano and loves to paint.
♦ She’s not very good at painting but it’s a hobby that brings her joy and you will often find her outside painting.
