This bird should not be allowed.
This bird should be allowed EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME.
Yeah, actually, that’s a really good point.
Feche a porta, mude o disco, limpe a casa, sacuda a poeira.
If you stay with the idea that you are not the body nor the mind, not even their witness, but altogether beyond, your mind will grow in clarity, your desires in purity, your actions in charity, and that inner distillation will take you to another world, a world of truth and fearless love. Resist your old habits of feeling and thinking; keep on telling yourself: "No, not so, it cannot be so; I am not like this, I do not need it, I do not want it", and a day will surely come when the entire structure of error and despair will collapse and the ground will be free for a new life.
~ Nisargadatta Maharaj
As you identify less and less with the “me”, you will be more at ease with everybody and with everything. Do you know why? Because you are no longer afraid of being hurt or not liked. You no longer desire to impress anyone. Can you imagine the relief when you don’t have to impress anybody anymore? Oh, what a relief. Happiness at last!
~Anthony de Mello ~
“Collard” by Kadir Nelson
Pergunta a minha indiferença.
E tudo isso é sono.
Meu Deus, tanto sono!…
There is not one cell in the whole organism of man which does not reflect in miniature the pattern, the proportions, and the functions of the immense cosmos itself.
Paul Brunton
You can't make a decision. You can only experience a story about how you made it. Decisions make themselves; they are happenings; they come when the time is right. Who would you be without the story that you need to make a decision?
Byron Katie
“Deep letting go can be experienced in an almost infinite variety of ways. But always remember that we are simply letting go of an imagined self, not something that has any objective reality or agency. We are simply letting go into the reality of Life, into what we truly are. We are Eternity pure and simple. And Eternity takes an infinite variety of forms, including these human forms. The letting go into Eternity may require courage, but even more it requires the deepest relaxation, the relaxation of a lover relaxing into the arms of her beloved. In this sense it is an act of love. Simply be still, that is quite enough. When the time is right it will happen, you can be assured of this.”
~ Adyashanti
It is only through the silent awareness that our physical and mental nature can change. This change is completely spontaneous. If we make an effort to change all we do is shift our attention from one level, from one thing to another. We stay in a vicious circle. This only transforms energy from one point to another. It still lets us swing between suffering and pleasure, each one that inevitably leads to another. Only the living quiet, the quiet without someone trying to remain still, is able to cancel the conditioning of our biological, emotional and psychological nature. There is no controller, no one to select, no personality to make choices. In life without choice, the situation is given the freedom to unfold. You don't understand one aspect compared to another, because there's nothing to grasp. When you understand something and live it without being stuck to its wording, what you have understood melts in your opening. In this silence change takes place of your own will, the problem is solved and the duality ends. You stayed in your glory, where no one understood, and nothing was understood.
Jean Klein
"If the wandering characteristic of all thoughts diverts attention and defeats the effort to meditate, try another way. Question the thoughts themselves, seek out their origin, trace them to their beginning and reduce their number more and more. Find out what particular interest or impulse emotion or desire in the ego causes them to arise and push this cause back nearer to the void. In this way, you tend to separate yourself from the thoughts themselves, refuse to identify with them, and get back nearer to your higher identity."
Paul Brunton
