I’m starting to question if the stuff I make in terms of music fits into a specific genre, I tend to get very experimental when making my stuff.
I felt like I haven’t drawn my UTAU in a while but I had no ideas so I spun a wheel and got something so totally on-brand for me I’m mad at myself that it hadn’t crossed my mind.
4th set of art fight attacks
art fight art study - looking at my art fight attacks and seeing things that need improvement.
- different body types: drawing for others made me realize I really only draw one body type and that’s my own. It’s not inherently a bad thing however I could stand to learn how to properly draw different bodies that work in my photobashed/digital art hybrid style since that’s the one I struggle with when conveying other builds the most. Which is crazy to say because you’d think having real people as reference would help with that.
- posing: recently I have been trying out different compositions because I feel like my poses feel very samey.
- shading: shading isn’t something I do often. I really never felt the need to when most of my pieces were either made from lace, fabric, felt, ribbon, paper, or stock photos. when I do shading it’s usually very minimal. I want to start finding time to watch shading and rendering tutorials as it isn’t something I’ve fully grasped yet.
I think I’m starting to warm up to the idea of having others come talk to me. I was previously vehemently against the idea however after a few brief interactions, I’ve come to realize I actually like discussing things I like with others.
I’m still enforcing this boundary for the time however maybe someday in the near future maybe I will be open to discussion about stuff related or unrelated to my art.
Seeing people freak out about the cake girl producer releasing a new song really made me realize that the vocaloid fandom is full of new, younger fans.
The way they react to it, they make it sound like it’s a literal felony (it’s not)
This may be a hot take but I think the hate is being blown out of proportion. Yeah, it’s a fetish song and I understand that may be shocking to some.
But I also think there’s also a bit of nuance to this.
Yes, YouTube as a platform has a variety of people from all ages and it isn’t right to hate on minors for overreacting to a fetish song that’s shocking to them when they didn’t want to see that kind of material.
But at the same time the cake girl producer cannot control who the algorithm pushes their content to or who stumbles onto their content. One could make the argument that because YouTube has such a big mix of adults and kids on the platform, NYAXU1 should have put their content on a place restricted to adults only.
But the unfortunate truth is that there’s really no spaces just 100% for kids or just 100% for adults anymore because it’s more profitable to have as many people as possible use your platform, there’s no guarantee that it’ll stay within adults reach only. We’ve also seen adult work breach containment before and end up in the eyes of the public (the ahnka situation is one that immediately comes to mind)
The Vsynths depicted in the MVs are adults, nothing about the video suggests that it’s for kids, the only thing people are mad about is that it’s nsfw. All the vitriol directed towards a song about adult content for adult audiences would be better directed towards ai vocaloid ‘producers’ and literal groomers.
It’s not my cup of tea either but if there’s one thing I dislike more than anything in the world, it’s sanitizing adult spaces in fandom because ‘think of the kids! 🥺’ when kids shouldn't even be allowed on the internet in the first place.
But that’s just my opinion.
I sometimes forget fandom is notoriously male-centered. Almost all of my fandoms have girls as the main focus so that issue doesn’t really affect me as much as others.
It’s completely fine if an individual has a preference however when it’s 90% of fandom, I can understand it does tend to get exhausting for fellow girl lovers like me.
I’m glad people are still talking about this issue and being the change they want to see.
Was thinking about making a Neocities since I saw one of my fave creators (luvstarkei) talk about personal indie websites but then I found out Neocities is being scraped by ai bots for training data and decided I’d try out nekoweb instead. I saw people saying nekoweb was a better alternative for those who are anti ai.
EDIT: Potential misinformation strikes again. Came across an argument saying that Neocities has protection against ai, another person saying there’s something in their terms of service that basically has you consent to having your site being used as training data, a third person saying no matter what you do you can’t fully prevent scraping on any part of the internet. Dude,, can any of these people give me a clear answer or not? Is Neocities ethical or not?
I have a lot of tweens and young teens who follow D.W.F.4.U.F and I do definitely feel the need to censor myself a bit whenever I feel like saying something in a post showcasing a witch. (Like not curse and stuff like that)
Occasionally when I do want to do something fun and different like gameplay commentary I feel like I can’t fully be myself because I don’t know who may be watching and I worry that I may be sanitizing myself despite the fact I am an adult and should be able to like adult things.
I know I don’t really give off that kind of vibe based on how I type but I do swear a lot and occasionally make suggestive jokes when offline. And I feel like it isn’t appropriate to keep that side of me visible when I know I have youngins who follow me for my witch art.
I didn’t think I’d ever have to feel the need to censor myself, I kinda expected pmmm as a fanbase to be majority adults as I felt it was a majority adult fandom but I see a lot of kids like pmmm too which was definitely unexpected. In retrospect, i probably should’ve expected this as i myself was a young teenager when I first got into pmmm. Plus anime similar to pmmm does kinda bridge the gap between that weird transitional phase of life where you’re too young for pretty little liars but too old for something like,, idk?? Barbie?
Saw a post celebrating the fact obsession is the highest grossing movie with two queer lead actors and I was super happy for that! Especially with how quiet this year’s June has been due to the rise of fascism, stuff like this is really needed.
And then I saw people outright downplaying inde navarrette’s queerness. Saying that she isn’t actually queer because she’s “rumored to be dating a man”
Yeah, she’s RUMORED to. Besides, even if she is dating a man it doesn’t change the fact shes still bisexual.
Plus, I’m just saying, I find it VERY strange that bisexual women are primarily the ones being called tourists and not actually queer enough meanwhile bisexual men almost never have to prove they’re queer enough. I always see memes of “bisexual women and their boyfriends” but never anything in the same vein regarding bi men.
Kinda crazy that my parents met because they both were huge dragon ball nerds. In a way, I only exist because of goku.
an opinion I think I’d get flamed for if I shared it on huge vocaloid fan spaces is that I don’t think rusino’s looping the rooms should be as highly revered and praised as it is when the creator knew they were using gen ai for the background art and didn’t care because ‘they were too lazy to make it themselves and it adds to the vibe’
EDIT 2: added screenshots from rusino themselves to clear up any misconceptions.
EDIT: this applies to Deino and Kikuo too. I stopped listening to them ever since I found out they both use ai and don’t care about ai’s harmful impact. It sucks too because they were both super revolutionary figures in the vocaloid community. Deino created the popular fanloid Calne Ca and Kikuo created an enormous amount of beloved music in the old vocaloid scene. But I still see people supporting Deino by buying Calne Ca merch and Kikuo still has an enormous following that makes up excuses for his use of ai art. Kikuo even had a huge art trend recently which is (in my opinion) all the more insulting.
I gotta free up space on my devices for my art.
Most of the time it works perfectly fine but occasionally my art app will lag severely or sometimes crash altogether.
And that sucks because most of the time it means I can’t properly polish my art like I usually do and just have to accept what I have currently (even tho it doesn’t look as good as it would if my app ran smoothly like usual) because what if my art app crashes and doesn’t save my work again?
Looking at my art output so far when it’s only been a week into AF made me realize how much I actually really do like art as a hobby.
Was I always this fast when running DWF4UF?
Third set of art fight attacks I made for others. I’ve been loving experimenting with different ways I can make my art look.
Something that people don’t tell you about recording an utauloid voicebank is that you get thirsty as hell when you’re recording.
When I was re-recording a few hiragana, I drank a lot of water because I got thirsty often from how much I used my voice
That’s especially bad because your recordings have to be consistent to avoid any jarring changes in pitch or tone
