Andrew Garfield attends Oscar & Jessica's wedding in New York City. | 24/01/2026
oh, see no one needs to see that, but i want to see it. therein lies the difference! i know people thought some things, and we generally denied it. though it feels pointless to deny it now. i do! i try to! i'd hope that you do. i know i still get compliments on the eyes of tammy faye to this day. you are going to make me blush. it can be! half the time i'm so confused by what they watch. four is nothing? are you sure? especially when they are so close in age? i will see how that goes! i think that's the whole point and i'm sure we did the same with our parents, but we didn't have the internet. that's what i am doing!
Alright, Jess, let me tell you, no, you do not want that. You don't know what you want, shhh. Yeah, there's no point in denying it. I'm sure plenty of people had one of those "I knew it!" moments when they found out you two were getting married. We nailed it in that movie, didn't we? I still keep hearing compliments too which is wild because it's been a few years and people are still talking about it. Kids these days watch the weirdest stuff, thanks to social media, back in our day it was just normal cartoons, plain and simple, none of this AI-generated nonsense on YouTube. Having them close in age is way better, I'm sure I could entertain them just as easily, one day with me and they'd be like, "I only wanna be with Uncle Andrew". Maybe you're right, I should ask my dad if he felt the same way. Aaaand, the wedding is literally around the corner, in just two days! Mind blowing.
Oh, man. I was just telling someone that I thought it was intense with Stranger Things spoilers and media, but Marvel has been a whole other thing. I've been so afraid to say something wrong, and I would disappear off the face of the Earth. Were you terrified of slipping up? So, like you were saying me being apart of it was announced, but not who I am playing just yet. I've been getting all the theories though about who people think.
I saw that little clip from the Stranger Things premiere where they ask you about Spider-Man and you go bright red. I could feel that moment in my bones because I've been there myself. That fear of saying one wrong thing and getting absolutely chewed out later is so real, but you handled it like a pro and didn't give anything away. Not a peep. I really hope the Jean Grey theory turns out to be true, but either way, I'll be seated no matter who you end up playing. What's your favorite theory floating around right now?
They wanted you to move out? Oft, that's rough for me. But hey, I'm glad that you blasted our music. Means a lot coming from Spider-Man. The album I did last year is probably some of my proudest work, honestly. Everything felt very me. I mean - I can see what I can do about getting you tickets since it's a sold out tour. I don't know about a couple, though. Just let me know what show you want to come to.
Yeah, but it was mostly because I was belting the songs at the top of my lungs. I choose to believe it wasn't because I was bad, just because I never stopped singing, which, apparently, can get on people's nerves. I can imagine how freeing it must've been to finally make music on your own terms, build something that's fully yours, your own lane, your own brand. If you're proud, we're proud too. Sold out? Oh, well, I guess there goes my chance then. Either Los Angeles, which I think I saw you'll be in around May, or London in June, I think? But hey, if that ends up being a hassle or more trouble than it's worth, no worries at all, I don't want to be a pain.
i know that not everyone loves the ending, and how things were wrapped up. we don't need to get into it, unless you want to? oh thank you! i know a lot of people will forever see me as nancy, and that's okay. i am keeping my options open? i don't mind the idea of playing those kind of roles, but i do want to avoid that being the only one i can get. i'm just hoping people want to see more of me.
Just thinking about it makes me mad. Even putting all the inconsistencies aside, I really didn't like certain characters' ending, but hey, that's life...conformity and all that. That's the downside of massive, long running franchises like that, after so many years, all those kids, and you guys who are a bit older too, are forever tied to those characters. You end up being etched into people's brains as that role. I think it's smart to keep your options open and not put all your eggs in one basket. For what it's worth, I can't wait to see you in more projects soon, and I'm pretty sure everyone else feels the same.
Andrew Garfield does a dramatic rendition of Sabrina Carpenter's "Please, please, please"
everything about the night was turning out better than she could have hoped. ella knew that andrew was someone who was naturally a bit nervous. it was part of why she did what she could to help him. she hadn't been expecting him to make her dinner, but he had. it was clear that he was worried that she wouldn't like it. she never had any doubt that he wouldn't pull it off. it was the happiest she had been in a long while. everything about the night was relaxed even with the shared nerves between them. it felt impossible for her to not notice how he smiled, a bit awkwardly. she had to stop herself from doing a bit of a happy dance in her seat," i know, i have complete faith in you, always have."
all that she wanted was to make him smile and laugh if she could. ella had seen how he had reacted after the break up with monica. he had been broken, at the very least, cracked open. that was why she had no qualms about being there whenever her schedule allowed. a laugh came from her," it might just be," she agreed," but maybe next time i'll be in charge of dessert." she wasn't too sure what made just confess what was on her mind. her teeth caught onto her lip at the mention of it not being one sided," that's a relief." her hands went into her lap, wondering what was about to happen. her breath caught in her throat as he leaned in. she wanted to memorize everything about his face in that moment. the way his eyes were focused on her, his mouth in a small smile, the steady rise and fall of his chest. her hands reached up to cup his face," so why don't we..fix that?" she wasn't too sure of herself, but she never liked to overthink. her body made the choice for her, allowing herself to pull him into a kiss. it was brief, slow and she didn't let herself fall into it like she might have with someone else. andrew was different and always had been.
Andrew barely realized he had leaned toward her until the space between them had shrunk to almost nothing, charged with a soft tension that was impossible to ignore. He's always been fond of her, but he certainly started seeing her in a new light as of late, and that was a feeling you can't shake off easily. Their gazes locked, both of them acutely aware of the silence surrounding them and of everything that had gone unsaid for a few months now, since they started seeing each other. His heartbeat thundered in his ears as he searched Ella's face for some kind of sign, anything that would tell him he wasn't crossing an invisible line. Then she moved first, and Andrew knew there was no turning back.
Andrew felt the world come to a halt the moment Ella's hands framed his face. His breathing turned uneven, and for a second he didn't know whether he should move or stay exactly like that forever. Their lips met with a shyness, a slow brush that felt more like a question than a statement. He didn't respond right away, he did it gradually, carefully, as if afraid that too much might scare her off or break something fragile between them. The kiss was soft, almost restrained, as though they were both testing the moment, fully aware of how delicate and special it was. When she pulled back, he rested his forehead against hers, still too close to pretend it hadnât meant something. "EllaâŠ" he murmured, his voice low and slightly rough. "You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that." He opened his eyes slowly, searching for hers. A nervous laugh slipped out, barely more than a breath. "I guess⊠now I'm the one who need someone to tell me I'm not imagining things," he said with a small smile, "I don't want to rush it, whatever this is, whatever we want ito be, but I also I don't want half-measures either."
you aren't that much older than me, are you? i feel like you can't possibly be. you really need to use that or i'll just be so disappointed in you. last time? planning on staying single for a while? oh no! an urgent need? you just want to see me move my pelvis, don't you? i'm onto you garfield.
A few years older, mate. But it's all good, I've got a young spirit, it's just that when someone reminds me how long it's been since I could "thirtyâŠ" I get a bit sentimental. And no, no, I like being in a relationship, but I'm not about letting myself go, and not keeping myself together. I hope that the next relationship I'm in, this doesn't happen! I'm not hiding it, it's exactly what I want, so I'm counting on you to give it to me this weekend!
I'm just taking every opportunity to get myself out there. Doing lots of things that used to be out of my comfort zone but you only live once, right? It really is so fucking surreal. I feel like at some point, I'll wake up and realize that this is all a dream. Thanks man, appreciate it. Press tours are tiring so I get that you needed some breathing space and some rest. I think we'll be doing another little press tour but in the UK as the show will be available there too soon. Quietly in the works? I'll take that. That's a movie from Luca, right? How was it working with him? That must've been an amazing experience. Me? No, nothing yet. Season two of the show will probably start filming some time in the summer but that's it.
Couldn't agree with you more. As someone who's stepped way outside their comfort zone more than once, I can say it's something you have to do in life, like you said, you only get one shot at it, and when you really think about it, it's pretty damn short, so you might as well squeeze every last drop out of it. And yeah, that feeling never packs its bags, mate. I've been in this industry for decades and I still catch myself thinking, how on earth did I end up working with these legends and standing where I am now? It never fully sinks in, you know? It's wild that it took so long for the show to really land in the UK, but better late than never. Oh, there aren't words for it. He's on another level, his mind is razor-sharp, and I don't even pretend to be in the same league, it's genuinely been such a treat. Well, that also means you'll finally get a breather after everything you've been juggling this month, because after walking in Milan, you're definitely going to need some proper me time to recharge.
Iâll admit, I missed having an excuse to wear something dramatic but with all the red carpets coming up this year, I doubt the drought will last long. Youâll be begging not to see me before itâs over. But I promise Iâm behaving and taking a proper breather before the press madness hits in the next couple of months, no big brother scolding required! What about you? Anything new on your plate, or are you sneaking in some downtime? I need the full update!
So, can we say we'll be seeing you on basically every red carpet this year? I mean, you've got movies coming out this year, right? So yeah, that kind of comes with the territory. Come on, that's not a bad thing at all, I'll never get tired of watching you walk those carpets in outfits that fit you like a glove. I hope that's the case. I'd rather not have to go full grumpy big-brother mode, which is the final boss level of big brothers, as you know. I'm in Los Angeles shooting Wild Things with Jude Law, and just saying that out loud puts a stupid grin on my face. But I did get some proper downtime, thank God, between the holidays and that little gap before getting back to work, I actually managed to recharge a bit.
Andrew, darling. I don't think I could ever be too busy for you. I am also in London at the moment but have been playing a little bit of roulette as to where is home these days. Been working on Avengers and Dune. Also got a new series out this year. What about you? What is keeping you busy?
Look at you, booked and busy, exactly what I expected. I've been on the move too, the feeling of not knowing where's home these days is so real. Iâll definitely keep an eye out for the new series. Right now I'm filming Wild Thins, in Los Angeles of all places⊠of course, the one moment we could've finally crossed paths and we end up ships passing in the night⊠I can't make this up. We'll have to see which one of us can sneak away first and go crash the other's city.
Oh my god, youâre obsessed with me! Kidding, kidding. Itâs such a treat to hear from you, Garfield! And youâre right, three months is wildly unacceptable. How did that even happen? I had the sweetest reunion with Julia at the Globes, but honestly, it felt incomplete without you. Letâs fix this and catch up over dinner soon! Weâre long overdue. Iâve been gearing up for season five of The Bear! Whatâs new with you? And careful what you wish for, my friend⊠you know Iâll yap your ear off!
You got me! I'm obsessed with you, no lies detected. I was genuinely gutted about missing the Globes this year, I would've loved nothing more than being there with you and Julia. Please tell me you didn't roast me too hard while I wasn't around. But yeah, done deal, we really can't let too much time pass between seeing each other again. I'm in Los Angeles right now shooting Wild Things, so if you're heading this way anytime soon, you'd better let me know. Other than that, there's not much to report on my end. And please, you know I'd happily listen to anything you want to share, it's never a bother, not even a little bit.
yes, i think i just always have to adapt to certain people saying it, but mostly i'm also just easy to make smile and almost blush, so there's that, haha. it's the best way to enjoy the time, right ? i do enjoy keeping busy to whatever degree possible, it helps me out and makes me feel more at ease since i'm pretty used to it. though, i do relax when i can as well. exactly, generally great but will always have some stress to it. nice to hear, at the moment just getting projects ready to come out, work on and such. more â bridgerton â is to come soon actually.
You and me, both. I swear, one simple compliment and I'm already blushing, it's embarrassing but absolutely true. I won't even pretend otherwise, sometimes I feel like I never stop, but the moment I do stop, I don't know what to do with myself and I get completely lost, so staying busy feels way better than staring at the clock wondering how to fill the time. How do you unwind, though? I'm genuinely curious how someone who never seems to sit still actually relaxes, might have to steal a page from your book. Mate, I still can't believe there's been zero Bridgerton promo with you. Does that mean we're getting less Anthony this season? Because he's one of my favorites, right up there with Eloise.
nicholas: i feel we always need time to get used to things and grow with it. i think the best outcome happened for you to enjoy and embrace. i agree completely! i'll make one and send some your way, how's that sound, mate? yes, and it was very much an honor. i really enjoyed peanuts as well also calvin and hobbs.
ANDREW: there's something genuinely therapeutic about just accepting that it's going to keep happening, rolling with it, and most importantly, not losing your mind over it. sounds about right! you know it's real friendship when someone offers to make you homemade lasagna and even ship you some, top-tier behaviour. you're a legend, mate đ yoou just unlocked a deep calvin and hobbes memory. i feel like i definitely read them, but at the same time there's no way i would've remembered that on my own.
Oh why thank you, i'll be fully honest and say i have not see that sketch but now you got me curious, should i be worry about it or do you think it'll get a laugh out of me? I wouldn't put it past SNL to make some Illuminati joke out there and i think i need to get pay to listen to another joke like that.
I actually think you'd get a good laugh out of it. I say I don't like Drunk in Love in the trailer of a fake movie called The Beygency, and then these secret agents show up to come after me. We all know SNL humour isn't exactly top-tier, pretty much everyone outside the States wonders if Americans have a slightly broken sense of humour.
Do you and the other Spidey guys ever get together and talk about what it was like to be part of such a huge franchise? I dunno' why, but I imagine it being some sort of friendly pissing contest -- and the imagery cracks me up to no end. I've got a soft spot for Tobey and the classics, but I don't think I've been let down by a Spiderman so far -- so, hey, kudos. @andrewgurfield
You're not that far off, honestly, we're our worst versions of 'whose is bigger?' Tobey is always bragging about how his Spidey can produce the webs and neither Tom and I can do it. But that was mostly while we were filming 'cause we never get together, that's the truth. I agree that he will always be the original DNA, the blueprint everything was built on. And Tom⊠well, it's impossible not to love him. But if there was any get together, I'd say it would be like a very niche therapy group for men in spandex, the suit really does take its toll on you! I'm really glad to hear my Spidey didn't let you down, I can't be everyone's favorite but thank God I didn't disappoint! Considering Tobey's were big shoes to fill, that's no small feat!
