“Hades always came for Persephone.” “And she always returned home.” ❤️

My take on the apple trend but instead of an apple, make it a pomegranate! You can tell how much this series has made me motivated to draw, Adam and Persephone will forever be dear to me 🙂‍↕️❤️

I actually want to explain more on the reason why I drew this piece, so here’s a little summary:

Given that the story is heavily based around the Hades and Persephone, the pomegranate was definitely more fitting than an apple! As it was mentioned, the seeds were symbolic of the love that the two shared. The fact that the pomegranate is split shows how they see themselves as equals, connected by a strong bond. Adam and Persephone love each other so much that you can imagine how they would regard one another as their “other half”. It was mentioned by the Dowager Duchess that Persephone is Adam’s perfect match. I'd like to add that in the Bible, a husband and wife become “one flesh” as it symbolizes an intimate and life-long commitment that encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. And I find it fitting for Adam to consider Persephone (his Eve) as the “bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh”

You might notice how the apple trend highlights how close two characters are but in this case, Adam and Persephone are far apart. I wanted it to reference the myth but also the distance they had in the beginning of the story. The fact that they are looking at each other and smiling shows how much their relationship has grown and that despite the distance, their love for each other remains.

Fun fact! Regardless of the shape of the pomegranate, if you transfer one of them to the other, they fit perfectly in the space and still remain in contact with each other.
