I think ao3 is literally the only site where no censorship means no censorship. you can post the most vile things on there — things that will get taken down on any other platforms — and ao3 will protect you, your works, and your rights to create whatever you want, however you want.

and no, this isn’t me saying “write that messed up, disgusting thing” because while, yes, write it if it’s what you want (I myself enjoy writing dark fics, something I believe would be considered “vile” to a lot of people), this is me saying in a world of censorship and capitalism, ao3 really is a treasure.

When I was 15 I was very negative. Of course I was, I was 15.

But I noticed I was negative. And I didn't like it. I didn't like the way it felt inside to be me, and to live like me, with all those negative thoughts all the time.

I had read somewhere that you could train yourself to be happier. That you needed to force yourself to think positive thoughts, until it became a habit.

I remember those few months of high school where I used to catch myself mentally complaining about something, and then forcing myself to find something positive to think about the person or situation. Again, and again, and again.

And it worked.

It became easier. And I became lighter. It was just nicer to be me, to live my life, to navigate through my days. I still remember the moment I noticed my life had become brighter.

And decades later, it still works. The muscle is still there. Now I know the word is neuroplasticity.

But at the time, it was just a 15 years old girl who was tired to be in the dark all the time, so she made light in her own brain.

If the writers of the new iteration of TMNT ever tried to connect all the TMNT universes I’m like 85% certain they’d used 2012 Donnie to do it…

…not only because it’s pretty believable that he’d create plenty of dimensional portals (give his intelligence and collection of Kraang tech), but he’s also voiced by Rob Paulsen the O.G. 1987 Raphael. And we all know how much this franchise LOVES to make call backs to itself….

Also Nickelodeon still owns the turtles and arguably the 2012 Version was their most profitable and has nostalgia on its side so….

It’s literally perfect for them to use 2012 Donnie this way.

Future Raph slapped the top of his head. “You moron!” And then he threw himself forward, and smashed his face against Future Casey’s.

Everybody froze. The rain might have frozen too. Raph sure couldn’t tell anymore. He heard Casey bark a laugh at his side and then he too fell silent. There was nothing funny about it. Raph had already figured out, Future Casey clearly didn’t need more mouth to mouth… and that was not mouth to mouth.

i feel. like on a fundamental level. i do not understand x reader fic. i am not exactly opposed to it because let a thousand blossoms bloom etc. but like. i genuinely don’t get it. it seems like the exact opposite of how i engage with fiction. like the whole point is that i’m not in there. i don’t wanna be in there. if i’m in there it’s going to be very stressful.
