I spent a lot of time in the past few days thinking about what a hug from each traveler would be like.
Ophilia: it would be really gentle and warm. She probably hugs Lianna often and she's willing to hug children and churchgoers in Flamesgrace to comfort them. She's very used to giving hugs but that doesn't reduce the amount of kindness that people feel in each one.
Cyrus: he would be really enthusiastic to give a hug if you asked, but it'd be really awkward. It's definitely the kind of thine he'd read about more often than actually doing it. He does get bonus points for trying though.
Tressa: I think she's the kind of person who hugs her friends a lot. Her hugs would be energetic, friendly, and somewhat quick. The hug would also be stronger than you expect (which would come from carrying her backpack around and all of the heavy things she moved for her parents' shop).
Olberic: a hug from him would be very awkward and stiff, but you would feel 100% safe in one. I don't think he gives other people hugs very often, but it has been happening more often recently because Philip and a few of the other travelers enjoys hugging people.
Primrose: a hug from her would feel very uncomfortable. The only hugs that she's given to anyone since her father's death were probably requested by various Sunshade patrons, so there's a lot of negative feelings in them (strong desire to get away from the person or kill them and a bittersweet memory of some of her last hugs from her parents). She probably relaxes a little after traveling with everyone else.
Alfyn: his hugs would probably have a strong older-brother vibe to them. He's probably given hugs to multiple patients to help comfort them. If you were feeling stressed or having a bad day, a hug from Alfyn would be the best thing to happen.
Therion: good luck getting a hug from him! He's very prickly about the idea of hugs, and even worse if he had to give one. He probably only accepts a hug from someone that he trusts deeply, but he's the kind of person who usually doesn't hug them back. A willing hug from Therion is very rare.
H'aanit: I don't think she hugs very often either, but it's still a love language for her. Her hugs are quality over quantity, and if she hugged you, it would feel thoughtful, safe, and intimate.
Ochette: she's probably really enthusiastic with her hugs, and there's been quite a few incidents where she startled someone by jumping on their back in order to hug them. She does give a really good and warm hug though, and she's also part of the "surprisingly strong hug" group.
Castti: hugs from her would be complicated. Earlier in the game, they'd feel clinical and melancholy, since she remembers how to give a hug and some of the emotions she felt when being hugged, but no actual memories or references to what it's usually like. This probably changes as she slowly regains her memories (especially after Healeaks and the Trousseau fight), and would eventually feel more gentle and relaxed.
ThronƩ: I think that she might've gotten exclusively hugs from Father or Mother that were manipulative and lacking affection, so if she hugged someone else it would not be comfortable for either person. Depending on how well ThronƩ knew you, the hug would either be devoid of sincerity and a prime opportunity for you to get stabbed or full of good intentions but terrible at conveying it. This is probably something that she gets better at when traveling with the others.
Osvald: a hug from him is the Ultimate Dad Hug. It might feel awkward at first because it's been years since he's hugged anyone, but he eventually gets more comfortable with hugs. They're not very common though (with the exception of Elena).
Partitio: he is very good at hugs that make you feel like a trusted friend even if you were a random stranger, and this is multiplied a hundredfold if you actually were a trusted friend or family member.
Agnea: I think there's two types of hugs that the gives out: a practiced, quick, and casual hug that she occasionally gives to fans and a deeper and more genuine hug that she gives to friends and family. Hugs are a love language for her though, so she gives them out often.
Temenos: his hugs are rare and calculated. He's probably more likely to hug someone as a tactic to influence how they perceive him (more friendly and less suspicious) rather than give the hug as a genuine sign of affection or a way to comfort them (he's got a different love language for that).
Hikari: it's a very awkward hug. The last time he was hugged was probably the day of/before Kura died, since Jigo and Mugen don't seem like the hugging type. He's trying his best and the hug is genuine, but he just doesn't know how to hug someone.
