Hi! I'm Sunny, I use any pronouns, I'm autistic and I'm an adult.

This blog is SFW. Not endogenic/tulpa/etc friendly. I'm not interested in discourse, but feel free to block me if you need to.

I call myself a therian or alterhuman, since it's closest to a descriptor for my experience. I don't put too much importance into labels.

I made this blog to express/explore my alterhumanity. I mostly reblog things that remind me of my theriotypes, I very occasionally post my own stuff. I'm not very active.

My theriotypes so far are pygmy goat and cheetah. I feel connected to smaller felines as well. I occasionally feel wings, but I don't know yet what this is. Have some pictures that make me go "me!!":

I remember the first time I looked at naked people in a sexual context and I just thought "This is what people get horny over?" I feel like my asexual identity is so personal to me that I can't find a label that fits, but I want to put this out there for anyone who might feel the same way.

I feel no sexual attraction to naked bodies, people having sex, or things like that. I do feel strong attractions to kinks and things of that nature. I am very interested in the psychosexual aspects of things and I am nowhere near sex repusled. Asexuality is on a spectrum and I'm happy to finally realize that I'm asexual.

#I don't feel attraction to bodies or ppl doing the sexy thing. Kinks are a different story#Emphasis on story... if there's a story of sorts or some mentally stimulating situationship that's different#But it's not people I'm attracted to. And if I end up attracted to a specific person it's bcs we've talked about kink.#As if I'm attracted to the potential kink related scene more than the person itself idk. If that makes sense.

That's exactly how I experience it.

When I'm reading smut I get bored if the scene is described with only what the characters are doing. I prefer when sensations or emotions are described. When you have access to what the characters are feeling, being it physical or mental.

That's also why I like certan kinks that make emotions more obvious. Like when a character is sad with one single tear versus when they are bawling, screaming, kicking... It makes the emotion pop up more. Kinks do the same with pleasure.

Do any other therians, otherkin, or people who have shifts; experience them be sometimes a negative overwhelming or tiring thing? Especially if you're in a shift for a long time. As if there's a "shift burnout" or something, idk exactly how to describe it.

For me, shifts are generally a pleasant experience, even energising or comforting. There are times however that I'll get tired of being in a shift for too long, or from shifting frequently - as if I need a break. It's not something I choose consciously either, it just happens.

Yeah this!! I think this is exactly what happens to me. Paired with me being unable to express that energy physically a lot of the time it feels like the energy is... pressuring? In a sense.

Certainly it is a bit depressing how so many otherkin accidentally fall into ecofascism and such because of hating humanity. loathing humans won’t do anything, humans are also an animal species, but also with a unique capacity of altruism and caretaking. A cat does not care that a bird species can go extinct, but humans do, and there is truly something beautiful in humanity. It also alienates us otherkin where our kintypes are actually very close to humanity—drakons are protectors of human houses, pantries, and givers of health. My kintype is bound by humanity yet there is barely any representation for otherkin such as myself.

I know it's probably survivorship bias, but I can't help but feel that otherkin in the past wrote way more essays than we do nowadays. There are more otherkin online than ever, but long-form essays still only pop up a few times a month. Are we writing less essays?

#I was thinking it might have something to do with the community moving onto platforms that don’t rely so much on written content#like with forums you’re basically expected to write longform pieces#same with personal websites#but with instagram and tumblr and more recently tiktok you don’t have to write anything long#and longform writing is more likely to be ignored#so the community changed to a more Aesthetic thing#aesthetic boards and request blogs and those beautifully curated instagram profiles as well as quadrobic and gear tiktok videos#people who grew up on the forums or have a preexisting interest in essay writing keep writing the essays while people who need a#push from the community aren’t getting that push because it isn’t a requirement to write anything#I wish we had more essays and I’ve gotten into writing them to provide at least a few#but I think the thing is especially among younger otherkin is they know social media as something where you post one image or two sentences#and that’s where the engagement comes from#so they don’t want to sit and write 3000 words of introspection#obviously that isn’t everyone but I think it’s an effect of modern social media

Not to mention everything is so much more...public. Like yeah the internet in general is public, but we used to have spaces specifically for us to share information amongst ourselves. Nowadays we're herded on to massive platforms with no specific purpose, where anyone and everyone can see and comment on it.

There's pros and cons to that, but one of the biggest cons for me personally is the nerves and apprehension. Especially since I've decided to be otherkin on main rather than a side blog. Forums felt safer. We were surrounded by a community of individuals who Got It, and were willing to help others understand themselves if they came looking. Trolls and people causing trouble were easily dealt with by just removing them from the forum entirely. It's a lot harder to do any of this on mass social media platforms. It's also more disorganized. Forums were often connected to websites that hosted archives of written work by the community on a variety of topics. On mass social media, those written works get buried almost as soon as they're posted.

I used to converse so openly about this side of myself on spaces where I felt safe to do so. Now, even though I'd love to write updates on where I'm at now, the nerves of being seen and judged on such a public platform keep me too apprehensive to do so.
