Joy seems like a word that has been long eradicated from Andromeda’s vocabulary. In her entire life, there was only a few moments where she felt truly happy—where she felt like being on cloud nine happy.
Today is the last week of summer vacation and I have now returned from my trip in England. You would’ve never guessed everything that happened in such a short time. Would you ever believe me if I say that I actually found someone who truly cared for me? You heard me right and no, you’re not allowed to roll your non existent eyes on me like that. Just let a girl dream for a moment would you? After all, we decided to keep in touch and not let the distance separating us to strain the bond we have formed over the past week we’ve spent together. For the first time in my life, I feel like everything is going according to plan. My cheap place didn’t seem to be that trashy anymore, the sun seems to be looking down at me right and smiling his wide smile as if he approved of what has occurred. Oh God, I can still feel my heart racing a thousand miles per minute against my ribcage. Just thinking about it is giving me all these strange sensations. I feel like my heart is going to burst from my chest any moment now but alright, I’m stopping there and going to start recording as much as I can remember now.
The day that our plane landed on the land of the United Kingdom, my friends and I were just excited to go sightseeing but due to being jetlagged, we were forced to stay in and spend the whole day in our hotel suite. Since we’ve won this in a contest, it was a luxurious hotel room, one we could never afford even if we combined our savings. There were two adjoining rooms, which has two queen sized mattress in each room, in the suite covered with beige painting and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. We are staying in here for five days and four nights, all of our meals are fully paid already and they even gave us allowances so we can get souvenirs. Of course, being as thrifty as I am, I chose to save the money instead of spending them with unnecessary things—except for that dress I found in the flea market. I can’t resist not buying it since it just calls to me and it was actually how I met him.
Moving on to another part of my summer turned pretty life, the second day was absolutely the best. We spent the whole day walking around the streets, going in and out of shops, tasting the delicacies they have to offer and taking hundreds of photos. We looked like tourists and there were some people who seemed to be amused by our doings. Still, the best has yet to come. If your sense of direction is as poor as mine, there would be no wonder how you will manage to separate yourselves from your group of friends and get lost. One minute, we were all looking at this stall that seemed to be selling faux gems and the next, poof! All of them are gone and I’m left alone wandering by myself. Thankfully, I’m in the land of English people so there was no reason to panic at all. I can simply ask directions later when I feel like going back to the hotel.
A certain stall caught my eye in the flea market I passed by, making me stop and search through the racks of clothing. When I found this navy blue dress with sleeves made of lace, was unable to contain myself that I squealed in delight. The person next to me turned their head around and I was met by the most gorgeous green eyes I’ve ever seen. Emeralds—that was the only thing I was able to compare them with but even then, they didn’t seem close enough. Green has always been my favourite color so all I could do was stare, with my mouth slightly agape. It wasn’t until the guy literally snapped me out of my thoughts that I was able to return back to earth. I apologized profusely but he only laughed it off, making me mirror it with a nervous chuckle of my own. I’ve never been good with boys. I’ve been with one or two before but nothing would ever be able to compare to this man, who was certainly a gift from the heaven. Fine. Who was I kidding? I’ve been with tons of boys but all of them paled in comparison to him.
I’ve paid for the dress and the two of us walked out of the stall, just chatting and opening up to each other. I’ve learned that he was studying Science here in England and I’ve told him that I’m taking education back in New York. There was never an awkward moment in the conversation as I felt totally comfortable talking to him and I could only wish that he did the same. We talked and laughed and shared shitty jokes with one another. Yet, the way he uttered every single world just left me mesmerized, making me chuckle loudly even if the joke wasn’t even that funny. The afternoon came to an end and he walked me back to the hotel. Like the perfect gentleman he was, he pressed a chaste kiss on my cheeks which left me looking like a blushing maiden, cheeks flushing with color. We’ve exchanged numbers and there wasn’t a better ending to that day. Since when the dark clouds enveloped the sky and the stars came out of their hiding place, he messaged me with a simple hi. And the rest was history.
It really wasn’t but I’m too lazy to actually continue writing this now. I’ll continue this later when I get the time. Don’t miss me too much, okay? I’ll write to you soon once I get some free time on my hands.
