What is 'Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows' fest?
You're probably thinking, what is it? Well as we draw through winter, it's cold outside. Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows fest is a prompt roulette focused on the fuzziest and fluffy stories to warm us all up. like a nice winter blanket or cup of hot chocolate.
Prompt Roulette, what's that and how does it work?
When Prompting and Sign-ups open, you will find two forms available to you. One for Sign-ups and one for Prompt submission. Anyone can submit a prompt. Once Prompt Submissions close, those who signed up to write, will be assigned a prompt at random.
Which Pairings am I allowed to use?
Your prompt can be applied to any Black Family related pairing, this is low key and low stakes to relax and de-stress after the holidays!
Rules:
No AI. (Spelling and Grammar Checks are okay as per usual)
Use Proper Tags as appropriate!
Fics should be between 500 words and 2k (This is not a hard limit. If you wantto go higher, you can)
No Underage or Heavy Dead Dove this time. This fest is about warm fuzziness and cosy fluff to unwind.

Q:Is Dead-Dove allowed?
A: Yes, except Underage Sex (Sex with a minor) and Heavy Dead Dove Themes! Just make sure the fic is Tagged appropriately. Any submission missing tags will be rejected and it will need to be fixed... don't worry, we will help you if you need it.
Q:What is a Heavy Dead Dove Theme?
A: Intense Depictions of Violence, Gore or Non-Con. While we understand exploring those darker sides of our favorite characters, we ask that works used for this Fest are not taken to the extreme. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us Mods know!
Q: I am not sure if my story works for this Fest. What do I do?
A: We are here to help!! Us Mods are available to help with that decision. Just ping us or ask for help in the fest-help channel and we will open up a Private Thread for us to discuss your fic with you.
Q:Can I use Grammarly for my fic?
A: Grammarly is a great tool and helps a lot of creators who need reading help, so yes, it is allowed. However, it is only allowed for SPaG help and tense help. The Generative AI features on it that will re-work or re-write creative pieces are not allowed.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us Mods! Please Use the tag, 'Grammarly for SPaG help only' if you use it so that way no one on AO3 can go after you for using it.

What is Prompt Roulette?
Prompt Roulette is a fun way for those unclaimed/abandoned prompts to get picked by willing writers and artists (Creators).
