"Okay, so we’re going to make the most magnificent pillow fort ever,” Andie told her daughter, who seemed more than just a little excited about it. “Go and find pillows, yeah?” And that Rory did, attempting to take a cushion from the couch while someone was still sitting on it. “Aurora, seriously..”
“What do you take me for? One of those brainless stylists? I’m not telling you my ideas.”
“I’m just saying you’re bluffing; you don’t have any ideas.”
“I can’t do anything obvious and public, at least. But t only makes things more interesting.”
“You’re right. But what isn’t obvious and public?”
“Consider?” Rosaline narrowed her eyes at the other girl. “Were you not related to Snow, I’d go after you right now, darling.”
“I know. Gets under your skin, doesn’t it? Knowing I can say whatever I want and you can’t do anything about it.”
“I am rude. And dishonest, and psychopathic, and dangerous. The fact that no one let me meet you after my Games says a lot, don’t you think?”
“They wouldn’t let you meet me because I didn’t need bad influences in my life- not because of how dangerous you consider yourself to be.”
“Seriously? I get why people won’t talk to you now, you don’t even answer them.”
“They don’t talk to me cause they’re terrified of me, blondie.”
"No, I think it's mainly because you're rude. You just say you're terrifying to try and feel better about it."
“Well, then I won’t answer you. it’s simple.”
“Seriously? I get why people won’t talk to you now, you don’t even answer them.”
“Just— tell me, okay? I’m actually really, really curious.”

"--I'm not gonna beg you. That's weird."
“Because I’m curious and it’s about me, so I think I should be allowed to hear it.”

She was about to do a countdown, but dropped her pen laughing as he mentioned Chinese takeout. “Seriously? Takeout? Not something a little more.. fancy? Edible?”
“Hey!” He pointed an offended pen in her direction. “That little place down the road is damn good and you know it. Greasy, soy sauced heaven in a happy little box.”
"'Pollo," she pouted. "I can't deal with all that greasiness, I'm trying to eat healthy and live a long life. I don't want to be killed by takeout."
“Born ready.” The stack of papers was now back in some semblance of order, and he crashed on the couch opposite of her. “I hope you’ve got enough cash for Chinese take out tonight.”

“Oh, I know.” She couldn’t control the grin that was spreading across her face. “I mean- It’s really, really great to meet you! I’m Aurelia. I’m the new escort for District 10.” Aurelia looked over at the little girl and gave her a smile and a little wave. “She’s just precious!”
“I figured you’d know,” Andie chuckled. “Well, it’s nice to meet you, Aurelia. I’m an escort too, I have been for years, actually. So if you ever need anything, just ask.” Aurora waved shortly, then went on trying to sneakily throw her stuffed animals out the window. “That’s Rory,” Andie introduced her. “Or Aurora Artemis Snow-Luxe, but Rory works better. She’s just a little shy with strangers, don’t think you’re scaring her or anything.”
“Ugh, paperwork!” Aurelia agreed, simultaneously hoping Andromeda would like her and trying not to lose her cool. All of her friends would be so jealous if they became friends.
“I mean, I could totally do it in a day, just not with Rory running around--” She turned to nod towards her daughter as she said that, but found that the kid was currently trying to drop one of her stuffed animals out the window. “Rory! What did I say about experimenting with gravity?” After getting a disappointed reaction of ‘not in the tower’ from her child, Andie turned back to the other person. “Sorry about that. I’m Andie, by the way.”
“Why would I tell you? But that delight on your face says a lot.”
“Because I’m curious and it’s about me, so I think I should be allowed to hear it.”
“You sound so much like this, it’s almost surprising.” Rosaline made a face. “Good. I don’t know if I could’ve survived talking to you if half of it is real.”
“What’ve you heard, then?”
“No. It’s both. If it’s repetitive, no one’s gonna take it seriously. Besides, I’ve heard those robotic hand are pretty neat.” Rosaline said. “I’ve heard enough. I’ve been told enough. I’ve seen you around when you were kid.”
“See, only psychos would say getting hands cut off could be repetitive, so repeating it only means we know who needs to get a worse punishment,” she said. “I never spoke to you when I was a kid. And you know most information about me acquired from other people isn’t all that accurate, right?”
“Offer them more creative punishments, lashings are so 50 years ago.” Rosaline sighed dramatically. “Yeah, I know who and what you are. I’m Rosaline.”
“I like to think it’s about getting your point across, not about how you do it,” Andie shrugged. “What do you mean what I am?”
