GOOD things about fallout 4
the almost iridescent design of the vault suit
the sweeping, beautiful soundtrack
most notably, the ambient track that plays in nuka town. otherworldly
how easily it introduces the fps game style to people who aren’t accustomed to it (aka me)
every single one of the three-dimensional and lovable companions
the urban decay and general dilapitatedness of the overworld, and the atmosphere it creates
the extremely versatile character creator
the wonderful post-apoc retro-futurism aesthetic
the building/workshop mechanic
more specifically the ability to build and revitalize settlements and make them into thriving towns
weapon customization! you can make all sorts of wacky stuff!
the qasmoke room. technically a cheat but a godsend when you can’t decide what your character is going to wear!
the occasional S.P.E.C.I.A.L. cutscenes that play when you launch the game
the way pieces of the main theme play when you complete quests and discover locations
the signature ink spots riff that plays when you discover sanctuary
the snark of the female sole survivor
the goofiness of the male sole survivor
the successful flirt and romance dialogue
the pretty green glow of the radstorms
the location in the glowing sea simply named “cave” filled with junk water and debris
the teeny little new vegas references here and there
