Searching a celebrity on Tumblr is very dangerous because instead of finding pics from movie premieres or videos of interviews, you find celebrity x reader fics or celebrity imagines where the author treats the celebrity like an object instead of an actual human being

Can you explain why RPF is so hated on by writers?

Real Person Fiction is not something I approve of.

It’s not like you’re talking about fictional characters; these are REAL people.

Imagine you found out someone was writing explicit porn about you and writing about you and your coworker banging. Sure, it would be better if it was about the characters you played, but this is specifically about you! It says YOUR name and puts words into YOUR mouth!

RPF ruins real life friendships and puts strains on relationships.

People show them and email them all of these explicit fics and art about them and I have no doubt that the topic is a sore subject, especially considering how they have their own significant others and families. (Some people even send death threats to their significant others, claiming that they shouldn’t get in the way of their ship!)

It’s fine to write about fictional characters because they’re fiction, but REAL LIFE PEOPLE are out of bounds!!!
