Hector felt her intention and offered his hand. The path he had opened was now clear, the last fragments of broken iron kicked away. Once she was through, he had no doubt that he could carry her. She was in no condition to be walking, much less crawling, or hugging the wall on her knees. He could take her the way he had come, if the tunnel were still there, they would discover together.

"He was... healing you. He searches for a way to bring you back as well. We're going to bring you back. First, let's get out of this cage."

Leila trembled as she took his hand, the pain like knives shooting up her arm. She cringed, but refused to let more than that reveal her pain. Her eyes told the story her mouth refused to.

She could hardly pull herself to her feet, the iron of this cage detrimental to her, weakening her beyond anything she'd ever experienced.

"Someone tried to... to exorcise me... Hector..." she didn't know what was saying. She couldn't think straight, logic would tell her that obviously he knew that, but logic was a luxury reserved for people with calm minds.

The reaper hadn't been expecting that, at all. He thought Rhys might have some deep, secret wish he'd always been too frightened to share. His question hadn't come with the promise of fulfilment, though he might have been willing to, depending on what it had been. He was almost disappointed!

"If you think I might one day want you to die for me, you don't know me at all, mi amor," a cheeky smile settled on his mouth, a tilt of the head, yet his eyes did not shine with mischief, "I don't want you to die for me..." a hand reached for Rhys' jaw, leaning closer, their noses almost touching, "I want you to live for me."

"Have you forgotten who I am? My absence was brief, this time."

It had been a century of reminding others his priesthood was long behind him. The man cradling him, now, had never known the human in liturgical vestments, cradling his Bible and spreading the Good Word. Yet it was this man who asked for no jewels, no crown, despite the determination of some of the crew to give him one. The only gold he possessed he wore this very moment. Reminders of adventures, and a tinge of vanity.

It wasn't wealth the former priest sought, but for those he loved to have everything they desired, and deserved. None more so than his captain, his friend, his lover.

Rhys sank deeper into the water, allowing Nachim to burden more of his weight.

"I don't imagine you salivating at the thought, no," he smirked. With his nearness, the vampire leaned his head back, their lips dangerously close. "I am balanced, and whole, and still human because of you. Now, tell me, if you could ask anything of me, what is it?"

He could only assume that was a pun - he felt the enjoyable levity at hearing the sweetness, almost approaching laughter. It was quite funny. Rhys' words were not far from the words that had been said the day Kaho gave him his name. Though his journey to such a joyful reaction had been paused. Rather, not paused. A train suddenly came hurtling across his path at full speed, unyielding, violent, yet... careful? Sticking to its own tracks, that is.

Rhys was some such train, stopping Nachim from reaching the other side, deterring his road.

I've loved you. Love? The word had him dissipating. The word had layers. He loved his pirates, adored them all! But that was not the same love Rhys meant. What he meant was something deeper, stronger, and more all-encompassing. It rose goosebumps all around his body, prominent enough for the vampire to feel against his arm.

"If you were to ask something of me, ignoring the sea and my pirates, totally selfishly, what would you ask?"

Every word may as well have been scripture. To Rhys, his confession was absolute. To then be asked to erase his vow of silence, to instead ask for reciprocation, required a moment of reflection. Even this request would be honored as command.

"It would hurt me more than you realize, to know you changed because of me. If you altered the course of your purpose because you believed I needed it. I say I ask nothing, because I ask nothing. Because I want your dream fulfilled. Selfishly, I want your fruition. One of us should have everything we have ever wanted. It should be you. That is what I ask. To live vicariously."

Gently, he squeezed his lover's arm.

"There is no one on this plane of existence I would die for, but one. Each time I come aboard this ship, I am prepared to die for you."

Ronan laughed, stumbling and half falling into his new friend for the night as he turned around to face him once again. His tank top was released and allowed to cover what it could.

"Naaaaah. The snake's called Luke!" he snorted, having to grip the other's arm for stability. Perhaps when he was more sober he would recall what he'd just said and wonder where on earth that had come from. The tattoo was out of sight and decades old, he forgot it existed most of the time, let alone forgetting the route cause of the tattoo. A long lost friend, a long lost life. "Your turn. Lemme see your tattoos."

For fuck's sake. He didn't care who was staring. The stranger's arm was going around his shoulder, if only to keep him from slumping to the floor in a heap of hilarious mistakes.

"Ha! If only! Mmmmy skin don't take to em. They just... disappear on me." His dance partner was too high, drunk, and oblivious to remember this tomorrow, so really, he could say whatever the hell he wanted. "I'll let ya use a Sharpie on me. How 'bout that?"
