Steaming hot take but marie kondo is literally an internationlly recognised expert in her field and white people mocking and questioning her and her methods despite not even being organised at an amateur level is a substantially racist action that seeks to undermine her both as a Japanese person and as a woman and I genuinely expected better from white progressives, especially white women.

This post blew up in ways I never expected and let me say fuck off if you think Marie Kondo is at all allowed to exist within the public sphere without her race or gender being a huge factor in how she is perceived despite how soft, non abrasive and gentle her demeanour is, or the fact she has honed her skills from years of experience and is an internationally recognised expert in her field.

Especially when her ideals and methods are shaped by her culture and the fact she struggles with a language barrier yet people are quick to question her credibility, quick to make fun of her language skills such as mocking her spark joy phrase, and quick to call her immature or childlike despite being a woman in her 30s.
