Bill Cunningham rode through New York City on a bicycle, camera in hand, looking for joy in the way people dressed. He photographed the ordinary person who understood that fashion is a form of hope. He refused money and fame, caring more about beauty for its own sake.

Bill Cunningham worked as a photographer for the New York Times for nearly 40 years. Beginning in the 1960s, photographer Bill Cunningham became famous for capturing New York City fashion, culture and candid street scenes. To honor his prolific presence among the city’s glitterati and everyday public, the New York Landmarks Conservancy even named him a “living landmark” in 2009.

13th August - International Left-Handers Day, first recognised in 1976.

In years gone by, Left Handers were considered unlucky, or even evil... and were associated with devil worship, or witchcraft. The word "sinister" is derived from the Latin for left.

Isaac Newton and Sir Winston Churchill were both lefthanded, as his HRH William, The Prince of Wales.

It has also been reported that King Charles is lefthanded. I do not know the origin of these reports, but I do know from personal observation that he writes with his right hand. If you look at photographs of His Majesty over the years, you will notice that he often has his left hand in his jacket pocket.
