something Iâve been seeing a lot of and Iâm sure everyone else does is people getting very upset and distressed when then weigh themselves everyday and see they gained anywhere from 2-6lbs (0.97-2.27 kg) or even if itâs 0.5 lb (0.2kg)
HERE IS A VERY IMPORTANT LINK
the human body can experience weight fluctuations from 2-6lbs PER DAY. Various factors can affect this. If you have a menstrual period this can even be more.
This is why weighing every week is best practice. You get a better idea.
If you canât wait to weigh yourself then get a good idea of your weight fluctuations and keep track on what might have affected them:
-exercise (when you start a new exercise regimen your body holds water)
-sleep
-water intake
-alcohol intake
-constipation
And so much more. If you binge and weigh yourself the scale could be higher the next morning bc
1.) your body is holding water
2.) food still digesting
Use daily weigh ins to gauge your body and what affects it
Weekly weigh ins for actual weight loss
Monthly is probably even better to get a big picture look.
Measurements can also be a good metric when you plateau on the scale.
Bottom line: if you have goal weights give them a range because even at ur goal weight things will fluctuate.

Why some people with disordered eating will never lose the weightâŚ
they identify too strongly with the shame cycle that is body dysmorphia and starvation/prolonged deprivation: to the point where they wouldnât know what to do when they hit their ugw. they arguably care more about the symptoms/unhealthy coping mechanisms caused by disordered eating patterns than reaching a certain weight. some people donât have an ugw, and understand that this is because they want to maintain restriction and feelings caused by their disorder(s). they are being honest with themselves, which ironically is a closer step in the right direction. they arenât in denial, and know what their motivations are and clearly define them. hopefully through self reflection and/or third party guidance, they can change some of their motivations and coping mechanisms to healthier ones. weight loss is not the problem 99% of the time, itâs the means in which you pursue it.
