The Lighhouse Between Sunset Sparks" 2025
Acrylic on canvas 60*50 cm
The kid next door (talking toddler age) is playing outside and just wiped out in his Fisher Price car, and I just heard the babysitter say, “oh no, your insurance premium is definitely going to go up!” And the kid who had only been mildly sniffling before made the most confused, but startled sound you’ve ever heard.
Just very clearly an attempt at saying, “my what?”
He straight up forgot about his scraped knee and is now worried about whatever the fuck an insurance premium is.

Who wants to hear a DIY tiling pro tip that the experts won't tell you
Yes!
Do not drop your phone into the bucket of tile adhesive. This step is actually completely unnecessary and massively complicates the tiling process.
You say this but my uncle is a tiler and he swears by the “drop phone in putty bucket” technique. I think you’re just posting this for clout
I think you mean they're just posting this for grout
I would give an arm and maybe a leg to see the PHM characters in your artstyle (no pressure)
PUT YOUR LIMBS BACK AND HOLD THIS INSTEAD

I’m not Christian, I don’t go to church anymore, and my pastor died, but when he was alive I’d sometimes go to his sermons and I remember one time he said “it feels good to hate, but we know that it isn’t allowed, so when we’re told that we’re allowed to hate someone we get so excited that we forget we’re supposed to love”, and if my humble atheist ass might borrow some church talk I’d like to perhaps submit that
Anyhow sometimes on the day to day I feel disgust or revulsion and I have to ask myself “is this a danger to anyone at all or am I just looking for something I’m allowed to hate” and a solid 98/100 times it’s the latter so once again thank you pastor D

Stargate Atlantis Background Character my beloved: Marine With Glasses
I wanted to do a shout-out to the guy for a while, but a discussion from ribbonnpurple and sga-mcshep-4ever inspired me to finally make the jump.
Kudos to Marine with (often glasses), unnamed, played by D. Harlan Cutshall.
He was one of the very few surviving OG Marines, seen here at the left and without glasses:
He always seems businesslike and serious, but he is also dedicated to the base's safety, and not only that. He is involved in many Atlantis scenes as a guard, as part of special teams too, but he also travels offworld on important missions. He is seen many times throughout the 5 seasons. When you start noticing him, you realise he is everywhere.
For example, he was sent to search for Bug John, even if he wasn't part of the team that found him (left, with the glasses):
He was sent to escort the gang offworld to what could have been McKay's last trip in The Shrine (left, with the glasses):
Here he is, on an important security detail, guarding Elizabeth in Adrift (left, with the glasses):
He also escorted Woolsey on his date with Todd (ok maybe not a date) in First Contact (for once at the center, with the glasses):
Some of my favourite scenes with him are when he is part of Lorne's gang of scientist-trackers in Tabula Rasa, which is hilarious, to begin with. Hunting down confused scientists and stunning them while gobbling down stimulants *chef's kiss* He has an actual moment of being the tech guy for their gang, manning some computer for them, a sign that he is not only cool and a steady Marine despite the amnesia, but also that he has some smarts (left, with the glasses):
Another mission I loved him in was when he was part of the strike team in Coup d'État. First, because Sheppard says he picked an elite team for this raid, meaning the military commander personally values Marine With Glasses. And second, because it is the raid where they wear the funny plastic glasses, and then get all gassed like losers because it was a trap. He is protecting McKay and Sheppard, on the left, with protective eyewear instead of regular glasses!
I think I have always found it nice to have a trained and competent Marine wear glasses. Very often, in the media, glasses are treated as a costume or a joke, worn only by comedic nerds or literature snobs. So, having a warrior type casually rocking glasses in most of his scenes, that was refreshing!
Marine With Glasses, we value your work! <3 Keep our Alantis family safe!

The thing Dean Devlin has always known that so many other showrunners have forgotten is you don't need blockbuster-level special effects, grimdark realism that only seems to apply when it comes to violence and misogyny, shock value twist endings, or a sex scene per episode. All you really need is a small group of fucked up strange little guys and gals, a fantastical backdrop to be endlessly explored (i.e. a magical library, an intergalactic wormhole traveling device, the notion of true humanity and redemption amidst a cruel machiavellian world), and some wonder and whimsy.
Observed today:
Two little girls playing gently with a daddy long legs.
Girl 1: can it die?
Girl 2, in a calm happy even tone: of course. Like all living things it can and must die.
