If someone told me a few years ago that I would be recognized today as a Woman of #Xcellence by a world renowned luxury brand that I have long admired, I would not have believed them. Sure, I have done some pretty amazing things in my life, but I have also lived long enough to experience failure. Failures I didn’t think I could come back from. So in being recognized, this is also a learning experience for me. Xcellence isn’t perfection. Xcellence isn’t always happy or pretty. Xcellence is falling down hard many, many times, but always getting back up. Dedication, resilience, passion, having everything, losing it all, feeling like giving up, but still getting up and going to the gym no matter what. That's Xcellence! . . . Whether I'm feeling young or feeling old..... if I'm thinking “I’ve got this” or if I feel my world is falling apart - no matter what, I’m gonna keep doing the damn thing anyway. . . Then suddenly one day, I'm living the life I envisioned for myself. And I'm being recognized for it. Thank you, @bmwusa & @kmwchi1, for acknowledging me, a 51 year old woman of color, striving to live a life of Xcellence. . . Now catch me in these NYC streets (and beyond) in the #bmwx5 throughout the month of April! 💁🏽♀️. . . #bmwdiversity #bmwwox (at Central Harlem)
