” —————— am i on meth, or am i seeing children ? … lots & lots of children. “
"Really hoping it's not meth because then we'd all be on it."
"You...don't look familiar."
Sessions #2 (therapy) | Paraiso | Dr. Bloom
L-Like what?
Maybe...something from your childhood or adolescence.
bonfire // pastly
And what makes you say that? [ He shrugged slightly. ] I’m not one to take advice anyway. Well I was going to ask you how your work was going, but I guess that answers that.
I just...I look around at these kids--or all the ex-captives really--and I see so much pain. More pain than I thought I'd be trying to fix, I guess. I found one of them trying to end their own life a few weeks ago. I can't help but think that maybe...maybe my training is inadequate to handle this. [ She took another long drink. ] Guess I can save my breath then. Honestly, I have no idea.
Anyways...how've you been holding up?
wedding grumbles // past
[He nodded absently; he knew that feeling, the itch to get out of the small square rooms that had begun to be his life here in Paradise. The wedding was a welcome change.] Truth be told, I know their kid, Ethan, better than the two of ‘em combined. Helped patch him up after a bad accident last year when…they couldn’t be around.
[ Alana looked a little surprised. ] I'm not sure I've seen any children around. I definitely need to get out of the office more. [ She paused. ] Would you mind me asking what happened to them?
Pavel Chekov. I do not know if we know each other. And my accent is barely heard anymore, yes? I have been practicing.
I don't think we do. I'm Doctor Alana Bloom. Your accent is very faint, but if I may ask...why would you want to get rid of it?
[session]
[ Scott had been thinking about Leo’s words a lot since whenever he’d been returned to his actual body. It seemed to be a constant cycle with him: someone always had something different to say, and Scott got confused, and then he got upset, because he just didn’t get it. He didn’t understand what was right, he didn’t know what was wrong. He didn’t get to make those decisions anymore. And people were telling him what to do, but that hadn’t made it any easier. Not with so many voices. Scott barely wanted to get up, but that wasn’t up to him. He liked Doctors, though. He trusted them, and he hadn’t met Doctor Bloom yet. Maybe she was friends with Dr. Thredson too?
So, for the first time in a long time, he made a decision for himself. He wandered around the halls for a while, wondering whether it was a good idea, but then he remembered that it didn’t matter. He stopped outside her office marked with her name, taking a few deep breaths before knocking lightly. The door opened slightly and he stuck his head in only, glancing around. ] Um.. hi. Is this — are you - Doctor Bloom?
Last time I checked.
Sorry...yes, I am her. You can just call me Alana if you like. Come on in.

Oh, easily…everything from every day after I woke up. It’s really annoying actually and I can’t help but notice everything for no good reason. Is there anything I can do about it?
Ok, ok. That makes sense. I, um, yeah, no clue what gave me amnesia. I just woke up in the medbay back in District 14 and that’s it. [He nodded, subconsciously pulling his arms over his chest. There wasn’t any reason to be nervous but…he couldn’t help it.] Yeah, totally fine. That’s, um, thanks.
Oh, nobody. I assumed because, well, I have some really impressive scars. I’d make a joke about it, but it doesn’t feel quite right yet.
I don't think so. Like I said, it sounds like you have an eidetic memory. There's no way to turn that off. Studies have shown that writing things down helps though.
[ She noticed that he seemed nervous, so she backed off. ] It's okay, I was just wondering. [ She smiled a bit at his gratitude. ] Not a problem.
Really? What kind--if you're okay talking about it, of course?
Sessions #1 | Past
I didn’t think you could. It was kind of nice to complain about it though.
It always feels better once you've gotten something off your chest.
You can talk to me again whenever you need to, okay?
Be blind, Alana. Don’t be brave.
Dr. Bloom would be the exception.
This is not the first time I woke up female. Last time, it was more… body switch though.
You've got to be kidding me.
This place just keeps getting more and more strange. So...do I know you? The accent doesn't sound familiar but I'm a little disoriented right now anyway.
This is not surprising as it should be.
Is...this a normal occurrence for you all?
