One thing about me is that I can’t write while I’m still processing. It has to be over. Done, gone, and far enough away. Sometimes that takes months or even years.

I’ve never been the kind of person who can sit down and write to “let it out” or “clear my head" or do shadow work. I almost never journal.

I think that’s why fantasy and fiction come so much more naturally to me. You build another world and weave what you think and feel into it. In it you are never invisible, but at least the tragedy is promising. It doesn't sound desperate. It isn't for nothing. You're sure it's meaningful. And you're sure you'll handle it.
