It's been fun rp-ing Iggy, and I'll miss him. But, I'm done. I'm just done.
To those who care, thanks. It means a lot, honest.
Arthur had his stereo open, and Taylor Swift's new song, I Knew You Were Trouble came blasting onto the speakers. He chuckled and sighed when he heard it, and leaned back into his armchair. It had certainly been a long day, and he was exhausted to the point of collapsing. So much work had to be done., this was the most of a break he could have.
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground...
He could almost hear the screams again. The screams begging for help-
Oh, trouble trouble trouble....
He could almost smell the tang of blood in the air... it made him sick inside.
Arthur coughed, and put down his glass of wine. He needed air.
At the same time though, he chuckled, knowing this song to be truly a little dark. Though, of course, the young sweetheart didn't mean it in that way. Swift seemed to have a gift for being spot-on on the feelings of others, even if just indirectly-
He heard the wine bottle crash to the floor, and he whirled around.
"No one lie now. We know, for sure, that the culprit is in this room. There is no more point in concealing yourself. All nooks and crannies of the house have been searched, emptied, and blocked if necessary. You are effectively locked in your own home. You will have to come tell us, soon if not now, who you are." The detective took one last long look around at the four family members before striding out of the living room. He would be here too, to make sure they didn't create any plans. It would be a long week.
The eldest daughter, Pyon, gave out a huge sigh on the detective's exit, and looked around worriedly at her mother and father and younger brother. None seem as irritated as she was by this house arrest order, but all were wary, as she knew them well to be. Her brother, being 5, did not so much care nor understand what was going around him involving his parents, elder sister, and the scary adults that barged into their room, so he would be unscathed [hopefully] for the most part. Her father on the other hand was completely aware, and furious, whereas her mother was calm and collected, through visibly shaking.
Still, they all put on their best smiles for the British detective. What for all his aloof airs and attitude, Pyon just wanted to kick him. But she was trained to smile, and so she did. Even though all she wanted to do what kick him out of the house, and rip off those annoying, assuming eyebrows. The latter first, and slow. She wanted that British idiot to hurt.
"Papa, let me take care of this." She pleaded one more time. Her father, again shook his head, ignoring his daughter's sounds of frustration.
"Pyon, I said no." He sighed, and put an arm around his shaking wife. "This is not your doing. They will find us innocent with time, so you need not worry."
Pyon fought the urge to shout at him, but the British idiot would hear them, and her dad had been through enough.
As much as possible, she made her own exit from the desolate room with confidence [without seeming too childishly hurt] and went up the stairs to her bedroom. Sure enough, her belongings had been ransacked, her little hole filled with precious gifts and nicknack's emptied and sealed. Not that it had a way out anyway.
She plopped down on the bed and pouted angrily, hugging a body-sized pillow to herself, covering her face.
She'd do something tonight. Yes, end this all. For her parents. For her little brother.
Pyon smiled at them, and closed their door. Now, for her own plan.
She returned to her room, and picked the butcher's knife from where she hid it under her false drawer bottom in her cabinet, and gathered the pills from her overhead cupboard. It was time.
The British idiot would be sleeping in the living room. She could still hear the television running, much to her disgust. Well, all the more perfect.
"Hmm? Pyon?" His accent struck at her, deepening her intent. Time to move.
"Goodevening Mr Kirkland. I brought your soup, as you requested."
His eyebrows raised, but he accepted the tray she held, and placed it on the teatable in front of him.
"Thank you dear. You can go to bed now, you know."
"I know." She sat on the couch next to him, and leant forward, pretending to watch. The knife was behind her back, his handle in her hand.
There was a momentary silence, as Mr Kirkland finished the soup, and sat back. He shifted to look at Pyon, chuckling slightly.
"That was delicious dear. Though I could use the knife." He held out his hands, much to Pyon's shock.
"Come now dear, don't be afraid." He smiled, his voice patient. "Give it to me, slowly."
That did it. In a mix of panic and rage, she stabbed Mr Kirkland in the shoulder, to which he gave a groan of pain.
"I KILLED HIM. NOW LEAVE MY FAMILY ALONE!!!!"
The men grabbed her from behind, and Pyon did not struggle, though she only looked balefully at the British idiot.
Arthur grinned, and began to laugh. He stood, seemingly unscathed, and leaned in to whisper: "The pills added a lot of flavour darling, it was delicious. Thank you."
The next moment was a blur, but in the dead of the night, with the rest of the family sleeping, Pyon was taken away.
Mr Kirkland, however, stayed behind.
He was all too aware that the real killer sat behind him at this moment, holding a knife over his head.
The mentor looked amusedly at them both, observing first Corazon’s hunger, and then Arthur’s bold determination. They might just win this year. It looked very promising, these two as the district’s representatives.
He chuckled, tucking a strand of blond hair, wavy until his chin, behind his ear, closing his eyes for a moment. “Let’s start with the young man’s question shall we? It will help to clarify your own, mademoiselle, if it was answered first.” He adjusted his position on the comfy chair, feeling the alcohol he had earlier attempt to strike back at him.
“My games were rough, but then again, what part of the Annual Hunger Games, regardless of the year, wasn’t rough?” He began with a smile, reaching for a cupcake resting delicately on it’s plate. “There are, of course some that are boring, but never one that hasn’t been rough.”
..
Arthur’s green eyes narrowed, though despite his growing dislike for the man he leaned over more, wanting to hear more. This man’s knowledge could save them, no matter how much [by the second] he disliked his voice, his manner of speech, or obviously flirtatious conduct. It could save both of them, if used correctly, he knew this. But the next words out of the man’s mouth could have made him strangle the guy.
..
“…You look like him.”
..
Well in fact, he nearly did. If it wasn’t for Corazon holding him back.
So this was the man who had killed his father in the old games. Well fuck you, he thought, settling back into his seat with the fuss of their announcer, whatever her name was, and smiles of both the damned mentor and Corazon. What the hell were they smiling about?!
It finally clicked in as to why the mentor seemed to be more interested in Arthur. She straightened up even more, more attentive and wary. Glancing nervously at her fellow tribute, Corazon tried to keep the feeling to herself. As far as she was concerned, she more worried for the mentor (Bonnefoy was it?) than anyone else present in the train.
As soon as he finished answering the emerald eyed teen and adding the little comment, she gripped Arthur’s arm. The once relaxed expression on her face stiffened and she forced a smile. “You are Francis Bonneyfoy yes?”
She swallowed and found herself holding the other’s hand, not only to calm him but herself. How she wished that the other people in there would just shut up. “Ser… Carriedo’s… description of you is eerily accurate.” This is going to be a very , very long trip… “I’m guessing that it’s only one of us two that you’re going to really help huh?”
A friend of a man from her past is going to be their mentor. Not only was he the murderer of Arthur’s father, but that man wasn’t also a particularly ‘good’ man in Corazon’s eyes. She continued to stay cool and remained holding the other’s hand.
Damn that French bastard!! Arthur thought angrily in his head, and gritted his teeth. He'd die first before being taught how to kill by the very person who had bloody fucking killed his father. No way in hell would he allow it.
Gently he pried Corazon's hand off his own, and stood.
"I need some air." He announced, and gave a look to his companion, and the person who was now their damned trainer.
Arthur walked off and stood on the connection between that cabin and the next, and stayed there for a moment. He needed to think.
There was something about this stranger who had shared his same face that had an…Appealing aura about him, an air about him that had caught more of his curiosity and had only continued to drive him to wish to learn more. He was every bit as curious as he had thought him to be, strange considering how foul-mouthed and foul-tempered he could actually be. Oh how many times he had wished to take a bar of soap and wash out that horrid mouth of his but to no avail, maybe he would have an opportunity to?
Arthur continued to follow after his mirror image, blue eyes wide from confusion as well as a type of wonderment. He couldn’t help but wonder if he was truly like how he thought he was from his previous sights of him, or maybe he was entirely different? Who knew? Excitement had begun to bubble up in the pit of his stomach at the very thought, but no, he couldn’t approach him. At least…Not yet.
Pushing through the layers of trees and bushes in his silent quest, he found himself freezing when he had heard a snap underneath his feet. Oh no. Oh no no no! This was not good! Not good in the least!
A snap? His thoughts rushed to that of a queen robed in red, carrying over her head an axe, dripping with the blood of the victims she had claimed. He went faster now, running, trying not to panic, wanting nothing more than to get away from the red queen. But wasn’t he already panicking? Wasn’t he already afraid? His pulse resounded in his airs feverishly, driving him on and on into new and vast territory. Did the forest ever end?
Arthur ran for a good 5 minutes (from his own analysis, of how time went), seeming to have run more than 10 miles from where he first began. “I think I’m in the middle now-” he whispered to no one in particular. His head was boiling; he felt too hot. What was this? But he took no notice of it.
A swish of fur against dead leaves and branches manifested itself in the dead silent air, unheard against murmurs under Arthur’s breath, now getting louder as he advanced through the dark curtains of trees and soft ground. He found it kept him sane, and somehow company. Even in his youth, in his time of being alone in the woods of his home, he had never known this kind of silence before.
Where was the Cheshire Cat? Wasn’t he supposed to be here by now? Up on that branch? He was sure, that it should be that branch, on that very tree. He knew the stories well; he’d pored over them one hot afternoon in Oxford. It should be that tree.
Suddenly, he whirled around, looking at the human-like silhouettes the trees had among them, staring at them before looking back in front of him.
He was tired.. yes, he was tired. A few more steps to the tree, and he lay down at the bottom of the oak, closing his eyes with no more thought on it. He was tired.
Arthur’s own eyes widened, if possible, even more so than they previously had been when his other-worldly double had took off like a shot down the path to go deeper into the hallowing depths of the unforgiving maze of these woods. While he had let out a deep puff of air from relief that he didn’t turn his head to see him, however at the same time…Without thinking on the matter a second more, he allowed his feet to run after the stranger who in an odd way wasn’t a stranger.
He had to stay close, had to keep an eye on the one from the other side. Who could have potentially have known what would happen if anyone or anything else saw him? Dire consequences he was sure, ones that he hoped that he wouldn’t have to be responsible for. As he drew closer and recollecting himself after a near stumble over the uprise of roots, he re-hid himself behind a tree to watch again.
The stranger was jerking about, turning around and around as though he were playing some sort of odd game. His face was stark red, eyes wide, disoriented…The poor dear. A faint pang bubbled in the pit of his stomach when the other had lowered himself against the back of a tree and onto the ground below. He was breathing so heavily…He was so heavily wet with sweat and his face seemed to burn like the color of the hearts themselves. He had to get closer. At least…To see if he was alright.
Taking in a deep breath before he carefully stepped out of his cover of foliage and trees, he treaded slowly toward the blond. Slow. Careful. Can’t catch his attention, at least, not yet.
When he had managed to get close enough, he knelt down in front of the other man with his head cocked faintly to the side. Upon closer inspection, this stranger truly did have his face. So maybe…The rumors were true. Leaning forward even more so so he fell onto his hands, he drew closer and closer; close enough to where their faces almost touched.
Arthur was deeply lost in his dreams. The moment his eye-lids closed his mind let itself wander, as if it had been seeking release from his current situation ever since he had set foot in this world. It was rather amusing actually, to think he was scared and winded and unable to continue until he recuperated. He had been through wars, crises, and epidemics, well, alive and awake most importantly. Of course Alice had also been through it all with him, for as "two parts of a whole" she needed to be, but it mattered not.
Hah. Even his thoughts were getting jumbled as they poured out. He sighed, a small smile playing on his lips and let himself further settle into unconsciousness. He was fully aware of something above him, but be it the Red Queen with her bloody axe or the theorized counterpart of himself or another nation, he didn't care. He just wanted to rest.
She smiled at the affection he showed her and slipped her hands down to his shoulder blades to gently knead the knots in his muscles. She shivered faintly from how cool it was in her home and cuddled up to Arthur more to warm herself up with his body heat. And being closer...
“Take care then. The sea does keep an awful lot of secrets.” He smiled a knowing smile, and looked at the other’s expression. Enthusiasm, excitement, happiness. A sailor’s life should roughen up that smile soon.
“I work for the government.” He said briefly, looking this time up at the sail.
He nodded, “Yeah, that’s sure true..” he looked down for a moment, kicking the floorboard lightly with his boot before back up to the other with a soft smile. “Oh..is it fun?” he asked
All rise, court is now in session. Judge Trudy presiding.
-Arthur stands, straightening his tie as he did so. He did not want to be here, it was a complete waste of time. Couldn’t Yao let go of the past anymore?
Though one look at him completely denied that-
-judge nods-
All right then, what is the case here?
As ordered, Yao had risen from his sitting position as the judge came in , before sitting down on her apparent throne as if she was the queen of the court room. Apparently so, as the judge had made herself comfortable, she asked the question that was plaguing everyone’s mind.
“I would like to start saying that this scoundrel back in the year of Anglo-Chinese war, where the former Qing Dynasty and Arthur went head to head over their different point of views of trading and diplomatic relations… Not to mention this scoundrel drowned my people in toxic fumes of opium, aru!”
Arthur turned to watch everybody else settle themselves.. was that Wales among the people seated? He frowned, and turned back to the situation at hand.
“Your Honour, this is a conflict long settled by both nations and peoples, is it really right to bring this up again?”
He felt lazy, and tired. He wanted this to be over quickly, however much injustice the damned Chinese man felt toward him.
“You vulture, aru.. Do you have any idea how much you tainted my image with your stubborn attitude and nonnegotiable ways, aru?! Because of you people think I use opium as an age defying medication! Not to mention all the silver you had stolen from me and my people!”
He ignored the other's complaint, and looked at the human in the eye. He was not using any of his power [though he could feel the judge was conveniently a quarter British], only holding her eyes as he spoke. "Can it not just be dismissed? There are already some concerns about this from the general public.. are you not ashamed of bringing this up again China? And in a court such as this?"
Romano swallowed and when he was about to take another bite there was a sudden poof of smoke and by the time it was gone he was a female.
“Oh, you’ve gotta be fucking kidding me!” Lovino cursed in her new female tone.
Somewhere in his subconscious Arthur noted [with some interest] the new female tone in the room, but it wasn’t enough to shake him out of his book’s setting and world.
“Aurther!” Lovino barked viciously with her female voice making her slightly scary ”what the inferno did you do to that tomato!”
Arthur slowly collected himself, and closed the book, eyes focusing to the world around him. He turned, raising his eyebrows when seeing that Lovino had somehow turned into a girl. Maybe he would turn back just as fast?

“Dude, this is probably the best Halloween ever! We got so much candy and shit!” The werewolf grinned as he pulled off one of his paws to dig around in his bag. Alfred smiled brightly when he found a little bag of M&M’s and tore the corner, popping a few into his mouth. “Hey, you get anything good?” he asked, peering into his friend’s bag curiously.
It was Halloween night and children of all ages were out trick-or-treating. Little Supermans and Disney Princesses were running around with their parents following behind. The occasional scream or squeal was heard as the older teenagers would scare the kids allowed to trick-or-treat on their own. A truly frightful night for some of those kids.
Arthur peered over at Alfred’s bag with a grin, then looking into his own. “Enough to make us both sick for a week!” He laughed, thrusting a hand into his bag and pulling out a KitKat. “Go ahead and pick.”
He slung his bag over his wrist - open so Alfred could take whatever he wanted - and adjusted one of his fangs which had been wobbling all night. With a snap! it went back into place, and Arthur winced a little. Damn it, that hurt. He rubbed the side of his mouth, and adjusted his cloak, tying it a little tighter around his neck.
Looking around him, he saw the kids, parents and teenagers almost everywhere… except this one house. Just that one house, in the middle of the street and in front of the intersection, it’s lights all alight..
“Hey werewolf, want to go over there?” He pointed to the house. “I bet no one’s even touched the candy there.”
Alfred grinned and searched through the bag, pulling out a popcorn ball and a couple little packs of candy corn and tossing them into his own bag. “Thanks, Artie,” he chuckled. “We’ll split it later tonight.” he then looked to the one house everyone seemed to ignore. He blinked, biting his lip a bit, but quickly replacing the nervous look with a smirk and nodding. “Y-Yeah! I bet there’s a ton!”
"Let's go then!" He pulled Alfred by the wrist and ran excitedly to the old house, almost spilling some of their treats. Really, for him to be so excited over such a trivial thing.. but the house looked authentic, and just fantastic against all the other houses, draped in their make-believe halloween. Now this would be a treat worth while.

Greetings, and welcome to you all.
-eyes his visitors- An interesting bunch we have here, for sure. -smiles- Please, come in, make yourselves welcome.
Francois! Good to meet you. -smiles a little bit wider, genuinely pleased to meet her- I hear about you sometimes dear., it’s good to finally meet you.
"Indeed, I have. Though only words of who you are, and where you were. Up north with Scotland, correct? He doesn't really speak of you much. At least not to me." Arthur smiled at his new-found relative, sincerity obvious in his tone.
With all the dignity he had left to muster, he crosses the dirty, straw filled floor. Drops of a black substance could be seen here and there, and judging from the smell, it was nothing you’d want to see.
By the time he had reached the light filled door, he already knew nothing good was to come out of this.
For a moment, he could have begged to be put back inside his cell.
It was a deadly combination. Trust and fear. As long as she could keep balance between the two, she would have him in the palm of her hand to do her bidding.
“Follow me” was all she said as she turned, walking down the stone corridor, taking the only source of light with her.
He had no other choice but to follow her. With much surprise he realized she was alone, the guards having either vanished or abandoned their posts entirely. In any case, he followed, bound by the promise of fear, though all too aware of the bite back of fear.
The light- it was in her hand. He would use that light to raise his courage. Concentrate on it. He was not powerless yet.
Nostalgia, the feeling of greatness of long ago; it all came back. It helped this time, rather than frighten him as it had before. It was somehow like a cushion to lie back on, this knowledge of the greatness he once had, or was. It straightened his back and gave life to his walk, ever so slightly a trained eye was needed to see it.
“No one is here. I took care of that problem. And if you try to run away…” She looked over her shoulder, smiling sweetly, “…I’ll make sure that chip I put in your head while you were unconscious explodes.” As they left the corridor, artificial light revealed a makeshift laboratory, complete with an operating table.
`Arthur stopped for a moment in his tracks, over her words, and now the scene in front of him. Medical instruments lay on the table beside the operating table, glinting as they reflected light onto his face. He felt his forehead, expecting a square to be there under his hand. Nothing.
Turn back, turn back.
Swallowing and gathering what little strength he had left, he made his feet move across the wood, until both lay flat on the laboratory floor.
Anything can be your death if used in the right way. Please don’t do that sort of philosophical while you have that smile on your face and the willingness to cut yourself. -Frowns- Humans kill. It’s in our nature to fear the unknown and what else is more mysterious than the thoughts in our neighbor’s head?
Yes… -Smiles as well- I think a bit of air might help us both. -Turns to walk, glancing back at Arthur to make sure he’s following-
Nations live longer but there’s a death for everyone. We will fear it, that’s not exception, but you can choose to accept it or not. I will die. That I know. I will be scared when it happens but I’ll not run from it.
Scoffing rudely Matthew rolled his eyes and snapped, “I never knew you and I don’t care to ever know you so please just leave.” This little game the devil had started was beginning to annoy Matthew. A small part of his mind caught the pain in the devil’s words and thought Matthew wasn’t aware of it, hearing the pain in the devil’s words made him angry. This vile creature had no right to sound sadden by the fact that Matthew didn’t know him. In fact, it was a great thing Matthew didn’t know him. Matthew wanted nothing to do with devils or demons or anything of that sort. All it did was bring up painful half memories that Matthew couldn’t make sense of.
As the devil stood in front of him, Matthew took note of Arthur’s appearance. The daunting green eyes, the cocky smile, the intimidating black wings. All of it scream trouble and all of it scream at him to run. Though, when Matthew’s eyes got to Arthur’s hair, he felt frozen in place. Dark red hair, just like blood. Across Matthew’s mind went a dark pool of blood and a scream rang in his ears.
Blinking, Matthew realized he had zoned out quite a bit. Noticing the outstretched hand and hearing the last bit of what the creature of dark was saying, Matthew scowled. He slapped the other’s hand away and snarled, “I’ll not dance with you no matter how many times you extend the invitation.”
Arthur frowned for a moment, lowering the hand, then putting a small smile back onto his face. Feelings; in old tradition, demons weren't supposed to have them. They were useless baggage on one's soul, and he had seen it weigh down every human he had passed so far to get to this stubborn angel. Why bother having them, if all they did was weigh down on you? He shook his head. Humans were so idiotic at times.
Yet, he could not forget he had been one.
He ran a hand through his blood red hair, green eyes scanning the area for any disturbance [purely out of habit]. His eyes were the only evidence of what he once was. The demon lord himself said to never taint them, and Arthur had always wondered why. Why not turn them crimson red, just like his hair?
So many fucking questions, too many confused thoughts, and even this single thought. Just fuck it. Kill the damned thoughts, don't let them overpower you. Don't let them weigh down on you again.
The demon allowed his smile to widen, and he chuckled a bit, looking at the angel beside him again. Such light., it was almost blinding to look at. Almost.
He took out a cigarette and lighted it, inhaling the smoke in some sort of relief. This was really the only practise he carried on from his human life.
"What is your business here then?" Arthur asked bluntly, letting out a breath of smoke. "Why is it I am not allowed here, but you are?"
