headcanon; immortal human
Humans were made to be mortal beings and Immortals were made to be celestial creatures -- and, by such, humans just don’t have the mental and emotional capabilities to live for all eternity.
Angelo’s half-human part makes it very difficult for him to emotionally and mentally handle immortality and, by extension, he has a lot of difficulty coping with his situations. So, he has a tendency to do... weird things, just to make sure he’s still real.
After nearly 2700 years of existing, Angelo struggles to “feel” anymore and often relies on extreme sensations to “feel” alive. (ie; pain, pleasure) Therefore, he is often rather physical with friends, requesting hugs in hellos and goodbyes, putting hands on shoulders when desiring full attention, leaning on shoulders, poking noses/arms/hands, brofists, etc.
Though, he often goes extreme as well, often drinking at bars and flirting with anyone in hopes of finding someone for the night or taunting people in hopes of starting a fight.
This sort of lifestyle is often deemed dangerous by most people, but is apart of how Angelo has learned to cope with his immortality. He’s afraid not being able to feel, of becoming incorporeal, or unable to exist -- a very real certainty ajoined to his death.
So, Angelo will constantly search to “feel” in fear of the day he will lose it -- and has already lost most of it by this time.
