As its my day off...I had the time to leisurely choose the freshest fish available in the market today and its the #telapiya . Made it with the #bengalirecipe of #mustard sauce with #tomatoes , #greenchillies and a dash of #coriander leaves in a chhoka of #kalaunji . Also made the #sabji of #ridgedgourd with #poppy seeds. #SundayLunch went off well with joint efforts of both sons and Papaji ( yours sincerely). Made #Biryani for first time with an #Odiya touch to it with some gravy and raita to help in gorging and digestion.... Made it on farmaish of Sushma Naik's chhotu beta...a budding transport entrepreneur who's come visiting. A very nice boy he is..One day he will be a big man. By the way I am not too much of a biryani or #Mughal food addict...maybe I outgrew that phase from over indulgence.😁 Both the #Awadhi and #Hyderabadi variants are too dry for my taste buds and so is the highly overrated #KolkataBiryani. Personally I feel a small bowl of soupy gravy and a watery #raita with the right blend of salt, sugar and onions plus green chillies is a must accompaniment with any biryani. I found this being served only in #Bhubaneswar. The greatest satisfaction came from #Ma asking for a second helping and praising the preparation sky high. After yesterday's disaster curry... today's chochori ( mixed vegetables of spinach, egg plant , pumpkin and lablab bean) and fish curry with cauliflower came off well. Nijer rannaye nijiye mugdho....( in love with own preparations)....but that is basic nature of a bowler .....isn't it ?
