Starfox 64 being remade is the least surprising thing ever, actually
I was gonna pull the trigger and get all the Romancing SaGa games GOG added to their store, backlog be damned, but thought better of it, in part because of SaGa Frontier's hideous looking AI remaster
I really hope modders restore the OG graphics eventually, because it's obviously a visually striking game when it doesn't look like everything in it is made of scar tissue
favorite word?
Gormless is a pretty good one
Redraw of a panel from DC x Sonic the Hedgehog issue 2. Original drawn by Adam Bryce Thomas and colored by Matt Herms.
Replaying Adventure, my beloved, and it's a kind of interesting that the water hurts you in the Chaos 4 boss fight if you sink into it for too long. It's like the entire lake has become an extension of Chaos' body and can harm you, which might be why it seems oddly viscous too.
It doesn't really align too much with how Chaos' lore was elaborated - his body described as being composed of concentrated energy, rather than water as such, and the later lore of his ancestral connection to the Ancients in Frontiers.
I've always been really obsessed with connecting all Sonic lore, early and recent, into something cohesive and internally consistent using headcanon. But the idea Chaos may have originally been intended to be composed of water has some cool possibilities for other directions his lore might have taken. Like what if he was some weird gestalt of water amoeba? Ancient microfauna released into an unprepared modern ecosystem. It might have carried Sonic's environmental theming forward, as a parallel for our real world ancient viruses, once safely encased in permafrost.
I like to think I might have chosen to adapt Chaos that way, if I was writing a Sonic comic adaptation in the late nineties. I think I'd have preferred that to whatever Archie or Fleetway were up to with Chaos at the time, anyway.
Sketched a Mado, thinking it would be quick and dirty, but lazily copying colors from the original sprite lowkey felt like unlocking something in my mind. My colours are not this good normally lol
"This tube of frosting tastes kind of funny..."
Installed the Jak 3 PC port just to have it and I couldn't help but sink 40 minutes into it. I still need to beat Jak II, but it's sooo fun. Such a cool world
s-sonic! i-i’m sorry! r-really! l-look, go easy on me! i’ll turn over a new leaf, i swear! just give me a chance!
Ah yes… the return of the little ear wiggle…
The best intro of any Sonic game by a clear mile! It felt like a movie. Look at how amazing Super Sonic looks!
Hnnnnnn i want sega to animate like this again!!!!! He looks so gooooddddd!!!!!
Peaceful night
Trynna go for a very specific vibe here, primarily inspired by Archie Sonic (Super Special 15; the FCBD redraw of course).
I haven't ever gotten very far into Archie Sonic, but I dip into the art regularly, at it can be really evocative to me.
I had of this cover Ice Mountain Zone Act 1 playing in the background as I drew.
Oddly melancholic for Sonic, just like the story, where he pays respects to a strange Archie background character.
Thinking I'll do more with this.
Since I'm doing 40K stuff now
Retelling of an actual exchange in the Votann novel
Going back to tackle coloring these Cosmic Elder! Sonics.
I haven't posted here in a long ass time, but with how my ancient art *still* gets traction, I almost regret going inactive here (before I took a sabbatical from Social media wholesale. Don't regret *that;* less social media is never a bad idea.)(I feel like I've only recently come to properly appreciate how straight up malevolant SM is. Maybe that means I'm ready to return in some capacity)
Anyway, given that Xitter has since become an actual containment cell, I might use here instead to tweet out random (probably fandom) thoughts. It seems low stakes around here, which suits me. Or else I'll just reserve that for my neocities once that's properly running.
I'm up cookieposting
Hey! i aint gonna ask anything...just wanna say that ive seen your works before, even before i created my tumblr account. I really LOVE how you do your sonic character interactions, so unique, and your linearts are so cool! They genuinely make me laugh:)) i encountered someones reblog of your post, thats how i found your acc again. i hope you have a good day/night:))
Sorry for taking so long to answer this (I haven't checked here in a very long time), this was so encouraging to hear!
The plan always is to keep drawing, but I think I'll actually have a lot more of the traditional media stuff again soon, and I'll post it here too.
Blows my mind for how long people have kept coming back for more of my stuff, I appreciate it.
