This was bad–he bit off much more than he could chew. Why did he think he could take on more than twenty demons at once? Even with his long-range spells; he should’ve known better that someone on the enemy side would catch onto him & have a way to take him down. Feathers ripped off in several places, leaving only large wounds behind–as well as gashes under his wings to prevent him from going anywhere. Sherbet had lost too much to properly use any magic to heal him–pathetic wasn’t it? He thought he could get by on being reckless & uncaring about what would happen to him but now those consequences came at him at full force.
He tried to prop himself up & find some kind of secure spot in this hell zone; maybe quietly die off or pray that someone find him & bring him back to the castle for treatment. But that was easier said & done as he fell over the minute he got on his feet. Groaning & hissing in pain; the angel let his facade drop–his usual smile fading only to be replaced with a devoid frown. Sighing to himself, the angel placed himself near a tree–it was the only way to sit up without exerting so much effort. Reaching upwards to his neck; the angel wanted a familiar sensation of his scarf dangling there & resting on his body as it always was. Yet, his fingers touched nothing before dropping to his side.
Right. His scarf was lost in the failed fight; it was possibly ripped & destroyed by now. Funny how he felt empty without it now. Tipping his head back; hitting just a bit against the body of the tree to close his eyes–the angel heard footsteps & immediately tensed up. Strange–all this time; he never reacted to another demon presence–it never un-nerved him or shook him..but now it was chilling to him.
Without opening his eyes, Sherbet slumped over–defeated; pathetically so & spoke up, “If you’re here to finish the job. Just do it. Not like my life will matter now.”
