Back in my feels again. I find it funny how I always return to Tumblr when this happens.

Coming up on 7 months here in Florida and just about 5 months until I head back home. Time is moving too fast and it scares me a lot (pretty sure I have mentioned this in previous posts.) For the first time since coming down here, I got extremely homesick, exactly 6 months and 1 day in (December 10). It might have been a mix of the holidays and the fact that my cousin, and nephews had just visited and left. It was rough getting through the holiday season, since I have never been away from my family during the holidays. For this, I am thankful for the family I have built here, definitely felt the love and it made getting through December a lot easier.
Aside from this, much has happened since my last update about 2 months ago. I became a Disney trainer, took a spontaneous trip up to NYC, and ringing in 2016 at the end of a 15 hour shift with my Canadian pavilion family, are some of the highlights of the last 2 months. I’m going skydiving next week, and my brother is getting married in April in the Dominican Republic, but what the next 5 months have in store is still mostly a mystery.
Until next time, the adventure continues...
So I guess an update on my life is in order, seeing as it has been almost 2 months since my last one. (Then again I don’t think anybody reads these, but it’s nice to have place to put all these thoughts.)
I’m slowly coming up to 5 months here in the Sunshine State and working for the Mouse. Life just keeps going on and I’m just barely managing to keep up. I can’t believe I’m almost half way through this year long contract, when it feels like I boarded that flight from Toronto to Orlando just last week.
When I first started this program, someone told me that the people you start this program with will not always be the people you will end it with. This far into the program, I’m starting to see this. You meet so many people down here that a lot of the time it is hard to build meaningful and lasting relationships. I hate how temporary everything here feels, but as time moves on, you just have to roll with it. All good things come to an end eventually, but in the end you will have memories of a time and place when this was everything you ever wanted.
Long story short, I’m still enjoying life and just taking everything that comes my way head on. I’ll hopefully update this sooner than 2 months from now, but don’t hold me to it. Until next time.
Oh hey there! Forgot I had Tumblr for a second there. I guess I should update this for whoever actually reads these.
I’ve been down here for just over 3 months and time is just flying. Days blend together and weeks turn into months. In the time from my last post, I have moved units, gotten a new housemate, became a member of a drinking team, joined the safety committee at work, been to both coasts of Florida, had my family come down to visit, lost 5 pounds, and became a program greeter for Canada, among other things.
I still love everything about working and living here and with time going by so fast, it kind of scares me. What happens when all of this comes to an end? Let’s be real, I am on a 1 year vacation where I happen to be working and making money. I am blessed to be where I am right now and I am very thankful for that, but when I go back home and reality hits again, then what? I guess it is a little early to be thinking about it, but before I know it I will be packing my bags and boarding a flight back for Toronto.
Until next update, Iwill still be here and trying to live the best life I can.
