RWBY Dream Machine
So, ever since the halfway point of Ice Queendom (AKA the beginning of my doubts…) I’ve kinda toyed with the idea of doing a rewrite of the story in the back of my head. Although at the time I still figured it would end satisfactorily enough (or catastrophically enough…) to weaken my interest…surprisingly, it did not. Despite it all, the anime hit that sweet spot of inspiration and frustration that makes me want to ‘fix’ things.
I’m not really going to do a full rewrite though (at least, I don’t plan to at this moment in time) but I AM going to do some new designs and talk about it on the DokiDraws channel. ^^
Ideas so far:
’Medieval fairy tale’ aesthetic! I’m surprised we get so little RWBY side-content with that vibe, considering *gestures at the entire franchise*. IQ was the perfect opportunity to do it, and they still didn’t…although it’s a little corny, I’d like to give it a shot~
JUSTICE FOR SHION …As in, I’m going to make them an actual character with a personality. ^^ I’m already kind of in love with them after the work I’ve done so far; I can’t wait to gush over them in the script~
“Knightmare Weiss” hehehe heehee
JNPR is involved equally; and Pyrrha’s connection to Weiss is actually explored instead of…just there
Speaking of equal involvement, Blake’s Nightmare is just as big a deal as Weiss’. In this story, both characters get infected around the same time, and I even had the idea that the two Grimm could interact to strengthen each other. >:3c It’d be a great opportunity for some symbolic character exploration, thematic parallels…i.e. I have a lot of thinking to do
‘Dream Machine’ is more than a silly name; it has significance. ;) To be honest, that was the idea that sparked the whole AU concept.
