It seems like artists only support other artists if the ones they are supporting already have notoriety. If that’s the case, how does one get notoriety if one doesn’t have support? It seems like a huge country club for those who can “afford” to get in. Why can’t artist support budding artists?
anon i have felt like this since i first started posting art forever ago, so i’m with you on this. good art can have 20,000 likes, good art can have 5. it all kinda boils down to exposure, algorithms and luck - it’s an unfair technological mess that just shows - yeah, support budding artists! at the end of the day, all of us just want to create and share what we make with others. artists with a following should boost young accounts and budding artists should keep on drawing and sharing, especially if they’re just starting out. i also think it’s important to learn how to enjoy creating for yourself. if you’re making art thinking only of the attention it will or won’t get, you’re in the wrong place. nobody really has control over their follower counts, so control what you can and just don’t stop creating - that’s all there is to it
