Vegan Philly Cheesesteak
Yesterday I visited Edgar’s Mission 💗 It was a very special day for me, and a highlight would be meeting Harmony the lamb 🐑 Harmony was born premature with wonky limbs, but with her splints and ongoing physiotherapy she has been growing stronger 💗 Every year 10-15 million lambs die in the icy winter fields just in Australia alone, it is often a slow and painful death for them. Sheep are intelligent and cuddly creatures that behave like puppies, they even have tails that wag (if they aren’t cut off). Harmony was one of the lucky few lambs to be rescued and she now lives at Edgar’s Mission 🐑🥰

Vegan Ben and Jerry’s!! Vegan goat's cheese!!
A so-called pig rescue is serving meat products at their upcoming event in October. Please encourage them to switch their offerings to an entirely vegan menu.
Pages might be moderating pages, so leaving your thoughts might have to be done over PM or by tagging.
And while I am furious, it might yield better results if we educate while condemning their hypocritical views instead of outright harassment. Let’s change some minds!

Rescue pigs from WHAT if they’re planning on eating them?!
“We want to include everyone.” There’s nothing in the rule book that says a curious meat-eater can’t eat a veggie dog for once in their life, but it doesn’t work the other way around. This is so ignorant.
Update:
The organizer is currently trying to figure out how to afford an all vegan menu while still having the same attendance of meat eaters. I am speaking to her now. She is trying - so perhaps best to delete reblogs and encourage her on her page!
The organizer I spoke with (screenshot from above) just said this: “My board has decided due to the large amount of harassment, they don’t want to let them win. they won’t change their minds. I tried offering the solution and I was out voted. 2 to 3. I was hoping maybe we could offer vegan if we had help paying for it. But we are afraid then we will be held liable if someone brings meat.”
Petty right? So focus your comments on the page towards the board members who refused to change. :/
UPDATE!!
After intense pressure and promises of support from vegans, the menu has been changed and this event will be vegan and cruelty free! Be sure to thank them for their compassion on the event wall and attend or donate if you can.

Vegan Caramel Popcorn
Ingredients
¼ cup refined coconut oil or other high-heat oil
¼ cup popcorn kernels
¾ cup vegan butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ tsp. salt (optional)
Instructions
• Preheat the oven to 250ºF, using convection mode if you have it. • Pour the coconut oil in a large pot, add one popcorn kernel, and cover. Once the kernel pops, immediately add the rest of the kernels. Keep heating until there is 2 seconds between pops. Transfer to a 9-inch-by-13-inch or larger cake pan or glass casserole dish. • In a small pan, melt the vegan butter and add the brown sugar. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture bubbles and rises a little bit, about 3 minutes. • Add the baking soda, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir to incorporate, then pour over the popcorn. Stir to coat. Bake for 1 hour, stirring once halfway through.
Spicy Vegan Chicken Sandwich
Ingredients
¼ cup hot sauce (we like Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce)
2/3 cup unsweetened nondairy milk
1 cup flour
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 ½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 Tbsp. pepper
1 vegan chicken cutlet (try Gardein’s Chick'n Scallopini)
Vegetable oil, for frying
Vegan mayo
1 hamburger bun
2 lettuce leaves
1 tomato slice
Instructions
• Combine the hot sauce and nondairy milk in a bowl. • In another bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper. • Dip the vegan chicken in the hot sauce mixture and then coat well with the flour mixture. • Heat the oil in a small pan over medium heat. Fry the vegan chicken for 8 to 12 minutes, flipping every couple minutes, then set aside. • Spread the mayo on each half of the bun. Place the vegan chicken on the bottom half of the bun, followed by the lettuce and tomato, and top with the other bun half. Enjoy!
'Smell-free seas' would be a disaster for marine life.
The oceans are becoming ever more acidic as humans pump increasing amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. These acidic oceans will change smell molecules and render them unrecognisable for animals in the sea.
Chemical communication using smell is essential for marine organisms. Its importance is comparable to the combined status of vision and hearing in humans. My latest research reveals that smell molecules in the ocean are significantly affected by ongoing ocean acidification.
Smell molecules are chemicals that are produced by organisms either on purpose – by females to attract males, for instance – or by chance during natural processes such as protein degradation. In both cases, they can be used by animals to smell their way around.
Imagine you are a little crab living on a shore covered with large rocks and deep pools, and battered by tides and waves. The only way to find your lunchtime snack would be to smell it from a distance. But the same also applies to the octopus hunting you. So you, the crab, also rely on smelling the octopus first to avoid being eaten. What if all this were no longer possible?
Man-made, increasing carbon dioxide emissions have caused the pH in our world’s oceans to decrease, an effect called ocean acidification. By the year 2100, the sea surface pH is predicted to drop by up to 0.4 units. This may not seem much, but it has been shown to significantly affect the fitness, physiology, reproduction and behaviour of everything in the sea from huge sharks and whales to the tiniest of plankton.

This blog is back
I’ve been on hiatus from this blog for a while. The reason is is that I had to forego my veganism due to various financial and personal difficulties. As such, I deemed it inappropriate to post on this blog.
However, I am now going to university in Septmeber and will be receiving a loan for food etc. which means I can eat vegan again. I am very excited about this.
I hope you all understand and will enjoy this blog once again - I will be posting my vegan ventures as I will be trying a lot of new cheeses and vegan tuna over the next couple months.
Hello Darling, im in love with your blog, and today it made me get into a really deep think about how incrediable our plannet is. Im a fellow vegan, but you also post a lot of really wonderful post about Nature and how amazing some animals/plants really are. I have spent nearly an hour looking at all your posts and I have such a postitive mind set now. So thank you.
Aw wow. Thank you!
