So, meet Lindsey Rockledge! A friendly, tender-hearted musician from Tundratown. Curiously, there are no records of a Lindsey “Rockledge” prior to this year, and a recent legal name change on file…

Recently, Lindsey got a miserable phone call from her mom with some alarming family mews news.

Lindsey is listed as having seven lives remaining on her profile image. Someone asked what happened to the first two. The answer: Fall damage. In a platformer, no less. You may say: This only accounts for one. Nope. It happened again less than a week later. It was the same manhole.

To give you an idea of how bad my recent Bubsy obsession has gotten, I have created a Bubsy OC. Oh yeah. Yup. It happened. Now Lindsey Lynx exists and we all have to deal with that reality.

In this house we appreciate Bubsy Bobcat.

This poor guy got thrust into the unenviable position of competing with the biggest names in mascot platforming at the time, and got written as aggressively unlikeable by folks who resented having to work with him as an IP. My boy deserved better.

When I was 9 I had to have surgery, and it was really scary for me at the time. When I got home from the hospital my dad surprised me with a 32X and Knuckles' Chaotix as a gift, because he knew that (at the time) my favorite video game character was Knuckles.

I was beside myself with joy, and I had endless hours of fun playing this game. It was instantly one of my favorite Sonic games. My brother and I always played 2-player games together, and this was one of our favorites. Coordinating with a second player and mastering the movement mechanics together is super satisfying.

Even playing it by myself, somehow I never struggled all that much with these controls or found them getting in the way of my gameplay - and I am BAD at video games! Very bad!

Years later, I was absolutely stunned to find out how many very skilled video game players hate this game or think it's irredeemable trash or struggle with the tether. What game were they playing?

Still on my Top 5 list for 2D Sonic games.

Oh, and last thing... This game's soundtrack does not get NEARLY the credit it deserves. Easily one of the best soundtracks of the 16 and 32 bit era, and the fact it's so overlooked is criminal.

*Leans out window and whispers into the aether* Knuckles' Chaotix is nowhere near as bad as people say; the levels are mostly fun, the movement gimmick is actually really easy to figure out and fun to use you just aren't good at it, and the music is better than almost any other 2D Sonic game

More dead kids! One of my favorite subjects because it just breaks my heart into pieces every time and then I feel this deep wrenching urge to save them somehow. And since they’re dead, that means giving them an afterlife!
