Most anime cons are cancelled this year, but Anime Burger Time cannot be stopped! I’ll be hosting the panel on the livestream on Saturday, May 2 at 8pm Pacific/11pm Eastern. Bring Your Own Burger as always, though considering the lockdowns you’ll probably need to make one or have it delivered.

Anime Burger Time at AnimeNEXT 2017

Oh no, I forgot to post about it, but Anime Burger Time returns to AnimeNEXT tonight at 10:15 in Panel 318! About half of my clips are new since last year. Bring Your Own Burger, as usual.

I’m at FanimeCon 2017 in San Jose, CA this weekend! Stop by for three serious panels and then on Monday, the most important one of all: Anime Burger Time at noon in Panels 4. One hour of anime characters eating hamburgers. It’s extremely good.

Remember: Anime Burger Time is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Burger) event. Burgers are not required but highly recommended. Veggie burgers are acceptable. See you there!

Burger Review: Alice & Zoroku Episode 1

45 minutes is a lot of anime to sit through for a couple hamburgers. These two need to eat to keep their energy up so they can use their superpowers, which I guess is the burger equivalent of the Fate/stay night mana exchange shit. I like this version better.

At it again with the burger, though this time only one of the twins is eating it. Clearly this is an important bit of foreshadowing.

Overall, I’m surprised at how enjoyable the show is, despite its predictable beats. The double-length premiere provides enough breathing room to set up a few sort of cool action set pieces that lead to the obvious moment where the reluctant hero agrees to help the heroine. I also sort of like the character designs (they’ve got a nice economical, cartoony style), but more than anything it’s just refreshing to have a grumpy old man as the main character.

It’s Time for Anime Burgers

What the heck, it’s almost midnight here on the West Coast and I just watched 45 minutes of anime in order to find the 15 seconds where two girls eat hamburgers. I have a problem and it’s that hamburgers in Japanese cartoons are funny to me for some reason. This blog will be the new official home for my anime burger escapades until I forget to update it. Enjoy.
