     Leaping from idea to idea in a non-linear fashion is very much an Ne (extraverted iNtuition) behaviour. (At the very least, Ne is a cognitive function which is pretty amazing at the leaps.) 

INTP’s have Ne as their secondary cognitive function, second in development only to Ti (introverted thinking).

A flustered INTP required to explain his or her ideas out loud may have a similar problem to the one presented by the photoset — there’s often difficulty in explaining instinctive cognitive leaps to another person. 

     Coming across as “A equals C because you’re wrong” is also a problem for many INTP’s.

Ti’s logic is adept in an instinctive, internalized sort of way. Not realizing that others do not have the same logic structures as them, the way in which they instinctively process and judge information may escape others.

This, coupled with their non-linear cognitive leaps, can make anybody who isn’t a mind reader believe that they are standing behind an idea with little-to-no backup.
